With an overall score of 70 points out of 100, the Group was among the top 7% of companies assessed and the top 2% in the “other passenger land transport” sector.

In previous years, EcoVadis awarded the silver medal to the top 25% of eligible companies. In 2024, the Silver Medal will be awarded to only 15% of the most committed companies, including Chabé.

Guillaume Connan, Chairman of the Group, says: “Confirming our silver medal is a source of pride, which testifies to our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This distinction is of particular importance, especially at a time when the 4 EcoVadis assessment criteria have become more demanding than in the past. Our progress since 2020 illustrates our voluntary and committed approach to CSR. We will continue to work to improve our CSR results.

Ecovadis-silver-award

EcoVadis is a global platform for rating the CSR performance of companies of all sizes and in all sectors. Using internationally recognised criteria, EcoVadis assesses companies in 4 areas: the environment, social and human rights, ethics and responsible purchasing.

Taking part in this assessment since 2020 enables us to identify our strengths and areas for improvement. This approach gives the Group the opportunity to move forward each year and adopt innovative solutions, encouraging the family business to continually surpass itself.

On the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, Chabé, expert in bespoke mobility since 1921, is highlighting the place occupied by women within the Group, while underlining its commitment to professional equality.

Since its foundation over 100 years ago by Maurice Chabé, the family business has been marked by female governance, first embodied by Eliane Lo Jacomo in 1959, followed by her daughter, Agnès Lo Jacomo in 1989, currently Chairman of the Group’s Strategic Committee.

In an interview, Frédérike Dupont-Pauchet, Human Resources Director, emphasized: “At Chabé, gender is not really an issue. When recruiting new staff, we give priority to candidates with expertise and a strong customer service culture, without worrying about whether they are male or female. This rule applies more to positions of responsibility. ”

Of the 15 members of the Management Committee, 6 are women. That’s why, on the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, some of them share their thoughts and advice on professional emancipation, and talk about the importance of this day for them.

Chabé Agnès Lo JacomoAgnès Lo Jacomo, President of Strategic Committee: ” International Women’s Rights Day has long held a very special significance for Chabé, and for me personally: as far as I know, it is the only transport company – an almost exclusively male environment in the 20th century – to have been chaired for 60 years by women, from 1959 to 1993 by my mother, and from 1993 to 2019 by myself.

For us, it has always been obvious that women could exercise the same responsibilities as men.

Today, as President of Chabé’s Strategic Committee, I am delighted to see the progress that has been made in terms of gender equality, while recognising the challenges that still exist.

I am still very proud to work for Chabé, a company that has been family-owned from the outset and that values diversity and inclusion.

Chabé Frédérike Dupont PauchetFrédérike Dupont-Pauchet, Group Human Resources Director: “As HR Director, I’m proud to promote an environment at Chabé where women are recognized for their skills and achievements, rather than being judged according to gender stereotypes. However, we must remain vigilant and continue to defend women’s rights, because even in the most progressive environments, inequality insidiously persists. Women’s Day marks both a recognition of the progress made and a reminder to continue the fight for total equality. The women and men of Chabé must continue to advance together!”

Chabé Leslie MoicaLeslie Moica, Group Sales and Marketing Director: “ As the Group’s Sales and Marketing Director, I’m proud to contribute to the development of a company that values the skills of everyone, regardless of gender. It is by normalising these behaviours in the workplace that the young women of tomorrow will be able to develop their full potential.

While this day is an opportunity to celebrate the developments in our society in terms of gender equality, it is also a reminder that we still have a long way to go.

Chabé Mélanie QuillierMélanie Quillier, Director of the Events Department: “As a woman, I’m obviously sensitive to the date of March 8, which reminds us each year that what we take for granted today has not always been so.

International Women’s Rights Day is an opportunity to celebrate the battles we have fought and the victories we have already achieved, while keeping our eyes on the road ahead towards gender equality.

I’m proud to be Events Director for a company like Chabé, which knows how to recognize and value the skills and potential of each individual, far from the stereotypes sometimes associated with the world of transport.

Chabé Nivin SalemNivin Salem, International Operations Director: “While the contributions and potential of women are worth recognizing every day, International Women’s Day is a day to reflect and celebrate the progress made in empowering women. It also gives an opportunity to recognize what still needs to be achieved.

I am proud to be working at Chabé where women have been in leadership positions for many decades. As a female Director at Chabé with a multicultural background, I am pleased to be able to support Chabé in the continued quest of gender equality.”

At Chabé, International Women’s Rights Day is an opportunity to reaffirm our strong commitment to professional equality and diversity.

Alexandre Queraud, a man of many hats, has forged his professional path with passion and determination. His career path, which began in accounting, led him to explore various opportunities before finding his place at Chabé, where he now excels as Fleet manager with coordination and chauffeur duties.

Alexandre Queraud began his career as an accountant, but his passion for vehicles soon led him to other horizons. After obtaining his BTS in commerce, he joined a company specializing in sports and prestige vehicles as a salesman, and quickly progressed to Sales Manager.

In 2013, Alexandre crossed paths with Chabé in Toulouse, as a chauffeur.

Over the years, and thanks to his previous experience, he has become a key element in the development of the office. Primarily dedicated to event coordination, his contribution extends to the dispatch department, where he is responsible for fleet management and maintenance.

Chauffeur training is also a significant part of his duties, where he shares his expertise and provides sound advice to future Chabé professional chauffeurs.

alexandre-queraud-chabe-toulouseWorking in Toulouse, the cradle of aeronautics, has influenced Alexandre’s career path, for whom this field is more than just an industry: it’s a family affair. He adds: “When I started working, the VTC profession didn’t yet exist. I’ve seen the chauffeur profession evolve over the years, sometimes with a drop in the level of service… However, thanks to companies like Chabé, the high standards and prestige of the profession have remained true to its origins as a Chauffeur de Grande Remise. It’s this distinction that means I still enjoy working for the Group.

Chabé is much more than just a company: first and foremost, it’s one of the best training schools for professional chauffeurs, but it’s also a family business with very strong values.

Chabé has given me the opportunity to experience many memorable moments, such as accompanying our clients to the Cannes Film Festival or the Monaco Grand Prix.

I’m proud to be working in Toulouse, in a company that is constantly growing, visionary and focused on personalized services.

A family business since 1921, Chabé gives everyone the chance to express their talents.

If you’re looking for exciting opportunities and want to develop within a fast-growing Group with expertise in mobility, join Chabé!

In the summer of 2023, we proudly announced the opening of a new office in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, headed by Laurent Euzet, to offer a bespoke, differentiated and responsible chauffeur-driven transport service throughout the country and the Gulf.

We take a look at this new agency in an interview with Ibrahim Khan, Chabé Dubai’s private chauffeur.

chauffeur-dubai-ibrahim-khanWhat led you to join Chabé after working as a taxi driver in Dubai for several years?

I used to work for TLT Limo, which was recently taken over by the Chabé Group. This transition strengthened my conviction to stay with a company that values quality of service and customer satisfaction.

In your experience as a chauffeur, what are the distinctive features of Chabé’s services?

What really sets Chabé apart is its commitment to service quality. We don’t just transport our customers from A to B, we offer a personalised experience. Chabé’s services are designed to meet the high expectations of a discerning clientele in Dubai.

Speaking of clients, how would you describe the relationship with high-end customers, and how does it differ from your previous experience as a taxi driver?

The relationship with high-end customers at Chabé is more intimate. We are there to meet their specific needs and provide an impeccable service. Chabé understands the importance of every detail, and that’s what makes all the difference to my previous taxi experience.

As a chauffeur at Chabé, how do you perceive well-being at work and how does this influence the quality of the service you provide?

Well-being at work is a priority at Chabé, and it shows. The company takes care of its employees, which translates into a positive working environment. A happy chauffeur is a chauffeur who can offer an exceptional service. It’s a virtuous circle that Chabé values.

But well-being at work at Chabé goes beyond personal satisfaction. CSR awareness creates an environment where everyone feels involved in positive actions for society and the environment. Chabé’s environmental commitments, such as eco-driving, waste management and the integration of electric vehicles, reinforce our pride in contributing to a responsible company. This translates directly into the quality of the service we offer, because our customers appreciate supporting committed companies.

For our readers who are considering using our services in Dubai, what would you say to convince them to choose Chabé?

Chabé is much more than a transport service. It’s a high-end experience, bespoke to the unique needs of each client. If you’re looking for quality, attention to detail and absolute comfort, and you want to support a company committed to responsible practices, Chabé is the obvious choice. What’s more, our team is available 24/7 to meet your needs, ensuring constant availability and reliable service.

In January 2024, as part of a strategic move to consolidate its leading position in the luxury chauffeuring market, Chabé acquired Limo +.

Chabé has recently made a strategic move by acquiring Limo +, a prominent player in the luxury chauffeuring sector. This acquisition marks a significant milestone for Chabé’s expansion efforts, particularly in catering to the top end of the market and diversifying its service offering. The acquisition is a natural fit for Chabé’s vision of delivering exceptional luxury transportation experiences.

Limo+ specialises in the top end of the market serving private individuals, private equity, and financial services firms.
Chabé London already has expertise in these markets but with this new acquisition, Chabé will be able to strengthen its leading position.

Chabé David BruceThe decision to acquire Limo + stems from Chabé’s commitment to enhancing its service portfolio and strengthening its position in key markets” explains David Bruce, Director of Chabé London. “By integrating Limo +’s expertise and resources into our operations, we aim to elevate the level of service we provide to our clients across various verticals we serve. Preparing an event

For many years, Chabé has been making its expertise in event transportation available to prestigious events. Whatever the scale or logistical difficulty, Chabé does its utmost to rise to the challenge.

Chabé Mélanie QuillierChabé’s event management teams redouble their efforts to ensure the transportation of clients. The upstream work requires several months of preparation, proof of a high level of efficiency.

Mélanie Quillier, Events Director at Chabé explains: “Organizing an event often requires several months of preparation.

It starts with studying the specifications, and understanding the expectations and challenges of each event, in order to advise the client and propose an organization.

For international events, a project team consisting of a project manager, experienced planners, dispatchers and coordinators, relocates its expertise to manage the transport of events that are often out of the ordinary, involving up to 300 chauffeurs.

We then organize and participate in numerous meetings, such as site scouting, kick-off meetings with the client and the various participants, training and briefings for our teams… Planning the project, defining human and material requirements, selecting suitable profiles, monitoring the budget(s)…

The expertise we’ve built up over the years means that Chabé is the expert for your travel needs on the day(s) of your event.

Professional chauffeurs for your events

At the heart of our event transportation service are Chabé’s private chauffeurs, true artisans of luxury.

Their secret? Training from the moment they join the Group.
Over a two-week period, they all take part in a training program that includes English and history classes, as well as a module focusing on emotional development. They also receive awareness training on good behavior and take two driving tests in the company of clients.

And then there’s the event-specific training. The chauffeurs are given detailed instructions beforehand concerning the appointment, the dress code, where to park and drop off passengers, how to introduce themselves, etc. “Their mission is to guarantee an exceptional client experience. This includes punctuality, communication of the expected journey time, and attention to passenger comfort…” explains Anthony Dampa, Head of Chauffeur Recruitment and Training at Chabé.

Punctuality, a point of honor

At Chabé, we understand the importance of punctuality at every stage of an event. Our teams are fully committed to ensuring that the program is adhered to to the second.

This precision is also essential for financial roadshows. With a dozen or more appointments a day. Thanks to the unrivalled experience of our chauffeurs and the tools at their disposal, we provide unrivalled service for these professional marathons.

At these events, our expertise encompasses a multitude of services. To meet the needs of all our clients, Chabé offers, in addition to its event transportation service, a travel service to and from stations and airports for the arrival and departure of guests, employees, VIPs, etc.

At the end of November 2023, Chabé opened its doors and committed to offering people with disabilities the opportunity to form a duo with a volunteer employee from the family business.

The aim? Share, exchange and, above all, offer a concrete immersion in the professional world within our company.

DuoDay isn’t just about professional discovery, it’s a human experience, a time for sharing where barriers are broken down and everyone’s skills are showcased.

For Chabé, it’s an opportunity to contribute to the emergence of new aspirations. A number of our employees gave us feedback on this exchange:

Duoday-inclusion-chabé

Lucie Davieaud, Head of Communication & Marketing : “For several years now, Chabé has been strengthening its CSR commitment by raising awareness among its employees, so the DuoDay was a logical extension of our actions. I was lucky to welcome Fiona to show her the job of communications for 1 day. It was quite intense and we both learnt a lot from the day. I can’t wait to take part in next year’s event, and to motivate my colleagues to do the same.”

Claire Lemaire, Communication & Marketing Project Manager: “Taking part in DuoDay was an enriching experience for me. Thanks to the sharing and human connection, I loved every moment of it. It’s gratifying to see how our exchanges create bonds, paving the way towards a more inclusive and welcoming society for all.

Virginie Medrano, Administrative Assistant: “It was an emotional day with Hugo, a bit special I must admit. It enabled me to appreciate just how lucky we are to be integrated into society and a professional environment, and helped Hugo to think about his future career.

That’s why, and in order to give other people with disabilities some hope of integration, I’m looking forward to the next DuoDay.

Flora Chaise, CSR Manager: “DuoDay is an opportunity for concrete exchange, helping us to overcome prejudices and project ourselves together towards a more inclusive world. The feedback from the pairs has all been positive, and we hope to repeat the experience on a larger scale next year.

Chabé is proud to contribute to this noble cause and to support the DuoDay project. Together, we’re working towards a society where professional opportunities are accessible to all, where diversity is valued and talent is not limited by barriers.

Aurélien Neger, a Bordeaux-based employee of Chabé since 2012, embodies the spirit of boldness and versatility at Chabé. With a bachelor’s degree in literature in his pocket, followed by a degree in geography and a master’s in town planning, punctuated by a trip across Europe and Africa, Aurélien followed a singular path before finding his way at Chabé.

By chance, Aurélien discovered the world of luxury transport and became a private chauffeur. His passion for the history of Bordeaux wine and his command of English were invaluable assets in presenting the countryside to his passengers. After a short spell with another transport company, his path crossed that of Chabé in 2012.

For more than 7 years, he alternated between his role as a chauffeur with Chabé, and positions in prestigious establishments such as Palaces and 4-star hotels, from Courchevel to Bordeaux, via Val Morel. This multitude of professional hats reveals his ability to embrace a diversity of professions and allows him to develop his client relationships.

In May 2023, Grégoire Vaillant, Director of Chabé Bordeaux, offered Aurélien an unprecedented opportunity: to stay in the transport business and help him develop the agency. Aurélien accepted, seeing it as a chance to prove his expertise.

His current responsibilities at Chabé extend far beyond driving. From managing orders to responding to invitations to tender, from operations to dispatch, including vehicle maintenance and invoicing, Aurélien is developing real expertise and becoming a key part of the Bordeaux office.

Aurélien explains: “For me, the Group embodies the very essence of excellence, while preserving a family heritage that goes back more than a century.

For me, working at Chabé Bordeaux is much more than a profession. Every day, I cultivate my passion for luxury vehicles, feeling valued while strengthening the customer relationship, which is very important to me.

Being multi-skilled gives me a unique opportunity to discover the inner workings of a company. Contributing to the agency’s development is a major challenge, and I see it as a daily challenge. “

A family business since 1921, Chabé gives everyone the chance to express their talents.

If you’re looking for exciting opportunities and want to work for a fast-growing Group with expertise in mobility, join Chabé!

From Paris to Santa Barbara, from Fashion Week to the Rugby World Cup, and from the British royal couple to Pope François, Chabé reaffirmed its French savoir-faire throughout 2023.

Rich in human terms, with the arrival of new employees, but also rich on an international level with the opening of a new office in Dubai, this year has breathed new dynamism into the family business, embracing a promising international future.

Thank you to all our teams, in France and abroad, for your commitment and professionalism.

We would also like to thank our partners and customers for their trust, and hope that together we can reach new heights in 2024.

It promises to be an exciting year, full of new horizons and sporting challenges!

We wish you all the best for 2024!

John Davies Chabé Professional Driver QSi Awards-2023

London-based chauffeur John Davies, who drives for Chabé, has won the Bronze Award in the Professional Driver of the Year category of the prestigious Professional Driver QSi Awards.

Professional Driver Editor Mark Bursa said: “It says a lot for John Davies that when Chabé was starting operations, he was the first driver to be recruited. He’s become something of a ‘team captain’, for the company, with an air of calm professionalism and trustworthiness that is vital when dealing with senior executives of large corporations. Earlier this year he was diagnosed with cancer, but has now been given the all-clear and is back at work.”

Professional Driver magazine’s QSi Awards ceremony was a night to remember for the cream of Britain’s chauffeur and private hire operators. The awards, open to every chauffeur and private hire company in the UK, are designed to recognise operators and individuals that demonstrate excellent standards of Quality, Service and Innovation.

This award recognizes John as a key pillar of our excellent fully employed paye chauffeur team. Chabé remains one of the few chauffeur businesses in London that retains a fully employed, paye chauffeur team.

Congratulations to John for this outstanding achievement, and a big thank you to the entire Chabé team for their continuous support.

Gold, Silver and Bronze awards were presented in 11 categories at a thrilling event, held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton.

The 11 categories mean there’s something for every size and type of operator, from one-man bands to large fleets. Categories also reward innovations in marketing, environmental performance and local community activities, while a special award – Professional Driver of the Year – singles out a chauffeur or private hire driver who is judged to be the best in the UK.

Mark Bursa said: “The private hire, taxi and chauffeur industry makes an enormous contribution to keeping Britain moving. This year’s Professional Driver QSi Awards recognise those amazing efforts and bring the industry together for a much-needed night of celebration.”

Mark Bursa continued: “This year the QSi Awards celebrated their 10th Birthday. Since 2013 we have awarded more than 300 QSi Awards, and this year we presented our 100th Gold Award. The quality and number of the entries grows every year, and this year it was an especially tough job to pick our winners. Only very good operators made the short list, so we can be sure our Gold, Silver and Bronze winners are among the very best in Britain.

Chabé, a family business since 1921 and an expert in the bespoke mobility sector, has established itself as a long-standing service provider to luxury hotels. With a view to perpetuating its long-standing relationship with these actors, the Group is proud to welcome Aurélie Vaux as Hotels Manager.

With 20 years of experience in the hotel industry, Aurélie is actively involved in developing customer relations. In this interview, the Group takes a look back at her career path, her motivations and the vision that unites Chabé and its hotels.

Aurélie VAUX

Can you tell us about your previous experience in the hotel industry?

The sales field in which I’ve worked since I started out has given me two areas of expertise: multi-segment sales development and project management.

In my career, I’ve held the positions of Sales Director for a hotel (NH, Concorde) then for a multi-property (B Signature) and group-wide (Millésime). My last role involved representing the brand internationally and defining its positioning through strategic actions with our partners.

Finally, team management, now indirect, has always played a major role in my career.

What attracted you to Chabé and why did you join the Group?

I love the richness of a family business that has stood the test of time. There’s a real history behind the name. It was a constant quest for excellence and an unrivalled knowledge of luxury transport that made me want to join Chabé.

Discovering a sector that is satellite to the hotel industry, with the same high standards of quality and acting as a white label for hotels, is a way for me to keep one foot in the exciting world of hospitality.

Today I’m wearing a different suit, but the fundamentals of the business remain the same.  My commercial and operational skills have been transferred to an exceptional clientele whose codes I know well. Returning to a hotel network that I’m particularly fond of is also an advantage in terms of customer relations.

You have acquired a great deal of experience in the hotel industry. Have you already identified the challenges you expect to face at Chabé?

Mastering each contract and its specific features is essential in order to deliver a bespoke service to the hotel. On this key point, the parameter that changes the game for me is the time factor, because the immediacy of assignments is even more pronounced in the luxury transport environment. Added to this are the challenges posed by external traffic factors and unforeseen events, which we have to deal with constantly in order to anticipate on a daily basis.

One of the hallmarks of our relationship of trust is the longevity of our partners. Some of them have been with us for over 60 years. This longevity is just as significant as it is with our employees. On a less official note, I have a few friends who worked for Chabé 20 years ago and who are still raving about their professional experience. It is the employees of the past and present who remain the company’s best ambassadors.

What is your vision for the development of the long-term relationship between Chabé and the hotels?

Like a beehive, there are many of us working together to ensure the success of our commitments. Our understanding of the challenges faced by each establishment we serve, its organisation, its clientele and its strategy, inspires us to think continuously and inexhaustibly about how we can improve our services. We operate in a microcosm where we have to keep abreast of the latest developments, concepts and openings. Some of our projects abroad may be driven by our customers’ desire to support them on an international level.

Chabé, the bespoke expert in event transport, continues to establish itself as a major player in the world of racquet sports. Chabé once again demonstrated its ability to manage highly sought-after sporting events at several major international competitions held in Paris between May and November this year.

Organising these 3 tournaments is a real challenge, requiring meticulous preparation several months in advance. In fact, over 7 months of organisation were needed to put on these major events, to accompany over 56,000 people through almost 27,000 disposal services.

On average…

Our teams were on the ground for 31 consecutive days, 7 days a week, ready to meet the needs of the sportsmen and women and the organisers…

Nearly than 140 chauffeurs were mobilised to guarantee a quality service for these 3 events

More than 90 partner vehicles, 74% of them low-carbon vehicles

A 20-strong team of experts at each tournament was dedicated to the overall coordination of the event.

These figures reflect the team spirit that drives Chabé, one of our core values, and consolidate our position as an expert in event transport. We are proud to support competitions of this scale and to contribute to their success.

At Chabé, our expertise in event transport goes hand in hand with our commitment to environmental responsibility. We are delighted to support environmentally conscious events and to contribute to the success of these internationally renowned competitions while working towards a greener future.

During her years at lycée, Patricia accumulated a number of summer jobs, working in sometimes demanding conditions, whether in catering, on the marshes or during the grape harvest. These early experiences instilled in her valuable skills and invaluable perseverance.

Patricia decided to leave her native Normandy to explore new opportunities in Paris. At the age of 21, she found a job as a waitress in a brasserie, a position she would hold for the next 20 years.

In February 2022, Patricia made a bold decision to change careers. She polished up her CV and started sending out job applications. At that point, Chabé caught her eye and a job offer in the technical department caught her attention. Patricia tried her luck, passed the interview and finally got the job of Technical Assistant.

Working at Chabé has given her the opportunity to discover a new world, that of luxury transport. Today, Patricia is involved in a variety of tasks, including managing drivers’ requests. Whether it’s resolving a problem with a vehicle or responding to drivers’ requests, Patricia is the guarantor of the Group’s prestigious image. She is also responsible for the return and collection of rental vehicles and those in the Chabé fleet.

patricia-requier-evolution-professionnellePatricia explains: “In my job, you have to be able to react quickly. We’ve already had situations where chauffeurs have informed us of a technical problem in the middle of a journey. We have to react immediately so that the fault doesn’t disrupt the journey and, by the same token, the experience of our clients. We go straight to the chauffeur with an identical vehicle and exchange it. These are details that are invisible to our customers, but which nevertheless enable us at Chabé to offer a quality of service that is as prestigious as ever.

I see this career change as an opportunity that arose at a decisive moment in my life. Joining Chabé has given me a new vision of the world of work. I’m enthusiastic and smile when I get up in the morning. Over the months, I’ve proved my worth and my skills, and my colleagues now have complete confidence in me.

Being a woman in this predominantly male sector is an asset, a plus for our team. I bring a special kind of wisdom and attentiveness to our discussions with chauffeurs, which proves to be a significant advantage during busy periods.”

A family business since 1921, Chabé gives everyone the chance to express their talents.

If you’re looking for exciting opportunities and want to work for a fast-growing Group with expertise in mobility, join Chabé!

In the constantly evolving bespoke transport sector, Chabé stands out for its commitment to strengthening its presence throughout France. Over the decades, the Group has forged a reputation for excellence and luxury expertise.

Recently, the Journal des Flottes published an article highlighting our ability to reinvent ourselves in the face of major challenges, while our participation in the Journal de l’Automobile programme was an opportunity to share our expertise with a wider audience.

Let’s take a look back at these 2 news.

The Journal des Flottes

The article dedicated to Chabé highlights our ability to reinvent ourselves, even after 100 years in business.

Indeed, the arrival of VTC platforms was the first major challenge facing our family business. Guillaume Connan, President of the Group, explains, “They offered a Mercedes, with a chauffeur in a suit who arrived with bottles of water and sweets in the back. This undermined our added value.

Faced with this situation, the family business decided to reinvent itself by turning to luxury. “This choice allowed us to stand out from the crowd, because the others were going in the opposite direction,” says Guillaume Connan.

Today, the Group is still pursuing its quest for innovation. In an interview in 2022, Guillaume Connan pointed out that more and more clients are expressing a preference for environmentally-friendly modes of transport. Fabiola Monteverde, Group Fleet Manager, is committed to maintaining the excellence of our vehicles while promoting the development of our low-carbon fleet.

Le Journal de l’Automobile

As part of this continuous improvement approach, Chabé had the opportunity to highlight its expertise in the field of telematics. The world of telematics is constantly changing, and is becoming an essential tool for the Group.

During her appearance on the Journal de l’Automobile programme, Fabiola Monteverde shared our French expertise and highlighted the key role played by technology in improving our luxury service.

Telematics has evolved considerably, becoming more accessible, comprehensive and accurate. Thanks to the telematics box fitted to our vehicles, Chabé is able to collect a wide range of data, including mileage, fuel consumption, route optimisation and chauffeur behaviour analysis.

Fabiola Monteverde emphasises the crucial importance of this data: “For example, it allows us to monitor any traffic problems in real time, enabling our operational teams to react quickly and propose solutions on the ground”.

By collecting this valuable data, Chabé continues to innovate in order to offer an exceptional service, while remaining attentive to the needs of our customers, demonstrating our commitment to excellence.

Thanks to these various decisions, Chabé in 2023 will have :

In 2023, Chabé opened a new branch in Dubai, a city known the world over for its exceptional tourist destinations and unique real estate projects.

As the hub of the Middle East, Dubai has quickly established itself as the Group’s preferred location. The local market, focused on standardised transport, coexists with the continuing development of luxury hotels.

Chabé Dubai is headed up by Laurent Euzet, who previously headed up the Cannes office and helped launch several of the Group’s other offices, notably in Monaco and the Alps.

In this interview, find out more about the family firm’s latest agency, based in the City of Gold.

Laurent Euzet Dubai, chauffeur privé dubai, transport privé dubai tlt limoAt the end of 2022, the Chabé Group took the strategic decision to set up in Dubai to offer a bespoke, differentiated and responsible chauffeur transport service across the country and the Gulf. Can you tell us what happened next?

In its quest for internationalisation, Chabé took the strategic decision, at the end of 2022, to enter the Dubai market. The project came about with the acquisition of TLT Limo, a local chauffeured car transport company renowned for the quality of its services and sharing the same values of excellence as the Group. This acquisition has enabled us to develop our relationships with a number of well-known hotels, but also to maintain our high standards of service to our clients.

In addition to what we already had, we brought our French expertise and our technological innovations, such as telematics.

Developing in a new country also means immersing yourself in a new culture, new laws and so on. So we had to adapt. Companies and events in this region are not used to outsourcing their transport needs. As a result, we had to do a lot of work to establish relationships of trust with our potential clients and convince them of the advantages of working through Chabé.

What services do you provide in Dubai?

Whether in France or Dubai, we offer a complete range of bespoke chauffeured transport services. From simple transfers to the coordination of transport for complex events, our focus is on service excellence and client satisfaction.

The dedicated chauffeur service is designed specifically to meet the needs of hotel guests. At any time, a guest may wish to travel to a museum, a shopping trip or a party. Thanks to our vehicles, which are available in front of the hotels, guests can be accompanied to the desired location in just a few minutes, all from the comfort of the back of a prestigious car.

In the years to come, we would like to develop our relationship with company directors in order to provide them with daily accompaniment, which is equivalent to the French dedicated chauffeur service.

For those who like to discover new landscapes, we organise exceptional tours, notably to Abu Dhabi, Al-Ain and Ras Al Khaimah.

Can you tell us a bit about your team and the approach you take to delivering a prestige transport experience?

The well-being of our employees is at the heart of the successful development of this new office. We are proud to have 51 dedicated employees with in-depth knowledge of the country and solid expertise in the field of private transport.

To ensure seamless coordination, we rely on a workforce that is always available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes not only our 40 chauffeurs, but also a team of 5 dispatchers and 6 administrators who work in tandem.

Our team is building, evolving and taking part in this new adventure with determination and goodwill.

Since 1921, the history of Chabé has been closely linked to hotels. Far from France, what is the agency’s current relationship with the hotels of Dubai?

Chabé’s relationship with the hotels in Dubai is just as close and special as the one we have built up in France. When we acquired TLT Limo, we were fortunate enough to be able to maintain our contracts with existing hotels, which enabled us to preserve our partnerships. Today, we work with 4 prestigious hotels, the Four Seasons Jumeirah, the Four Seasons DIFC, the Mandarin Oriental and the iconic Burj Al Arab.

We are also looking to the future, actively working to create new relationships with other hotels in Dubai. Indeed, as early as December, we will be working with a new hotel, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to providing excellent transport services in this thriving region.

What do you think sets Chabé Dubai apart from other private transport operators in the region?

In Dubai, we are the only French company in the bespoke transport sector. So our French expertise is a strength!

But what really sets us apart is our brand image, a prestigious image that is recognised abroad, particularly among concierge managers and hotel directors.

We are fortunate to be part of a prestigious Group that has made a name for itself with a wide range of actors in the luxury, sports and industrial sectors. We have worked closely with these companies, particularly on an international level, by opening our office in the United Arab Emirates.

What are the agency’s plans for the end of 2023?

The end of the year is quite busy in Dubai, with the end of the Dubai Airshow from 13 to 17 November and the launch of COP 28 at the end of November until 12 December, which intensifies our private chauffeur-driven transport business.

We will soon be working alongside a new hotel opening in December. 12 chauffeurs and 1 coordinator will be looking after clients’ needs, thanks in particular to the 6 vehicles made available in front of this hotel.

Another project, which concerns our teams more than anything else, is the move. We’re moving to new premises in order to develop our business as effectively as possible and to welcome the new Chabé Dubai employees.

More generally, we’re continuing to set up shop and get to know the market so that we can move into new markets in the region very soon.

We still have other fairly ambitious projects, but they’re scheduled for 2024 or even 2025, so I’ll be able to tell you a bit more about them next year.

Chabé’s professional chauffeurs play an essential role in the Group’s reputation. Their dedication to excellence and their ability to deliver unrivalled transport experiences are the foundation of Chabé’s prestigious reputation.

Since its creation by Maurice Chabé in 1921, the Group has demonstrated excellence and prestige in many areas of bespoke mobility, particularly in the events sector.

One of our values is rooted in the DNA of the family business and perfectly embodies the investment and dedication of our teams: At Chabé, we like a challenge. We love unusual projects and contexts. Over the years, we’ve learned to do things we’ve never done before. Chabé’s expertise is unquestionable. To meet our clients’ needs as effectively as possible, the family business has developed a real culture of sports events.

As the finals of the Rugby World Cup 2023 in Paris and the Olympic Games 2024 approach, Chabé is preparing to play a key role in the logistics of these global events. Find out how Chabé’s expertise continues to evolve to meet the needs of major sporting events, with a focus on sustainability and exceptional customer experience.

The Group’s expertise in sports events

Ever since the Football World Cup in 1998, Chabé has been making its expertise in event transport available to the biggest sports federations. Football, rugby, golf, racquet sports… whatever the scale or logistical difficulty of the event, Chabé does its utmost to rise to the challenge.

Every year, our events teams redouble their efforts to ensure that clients are transported. The upstream work requires several months of preparation, which enables us to be highly efficient every year.

Mélanie Vachon Quillier Chabé transport événementiel de luxeMélanie Quillier, Events Director at Chabé explains: “Organising an event often requires several months of preparation.
It starts with studying the specifications and understanding the expectations and challenges of each event, so that we can advise the client and offer them a bespoke organisation and timetable.
We then organise and take part in a large number of meetings, such as site scouting, kick-off meetings with the client and the various parties involved, training and briefings for our teams, etc. Planning the project, defining human and material requirements, selecting suitable profiles, monitoring the budget(s), etc. Our know-how, acquired over many years, means that Chabé is now the expert in getting you around on the day(s) of the event.”

However, these events would not be possible without our ambassadors, the Chabé private chauffeurs.
Initiated into the codes of luxury, they all receive training as soon as they join the Group. Over a two-week period, Chabé chauffeurs take part in a training programme that includes English and history classes, as well as a module focusing on emotional development. In addition, they are made aware of the correct behaviour to adopt and have to pass two driving tests in the company of customers.

Before the event, the chauffeurs receive detailed information about the event, the dress code, where to park and drop off passengers, how to introduce themselves, etc. “Their mission is to guarantee an exceptional customer experience. This includes punctuality, communicating the expected journey time, and paying attention to passenger comfort…” explains Anthony Dampa, Head of Chauffeur Recruitment and Training.

Thanks to our rigorous training, we maintain a prestigious quality of service, which has earned us the trust of many well-known sports clients.

The trusted partner for sporting events

Chabé has established itself as a trusted partner for sporting events. Over the years, the family business has built up a wealth of references, including the 2018 League Cup Final in Bordeaux, the 2019 Women’s World Cup, the Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup in the Alps, the Ryder Cup and many others.

What’s more, the family business is proud to be able to meet the ecological needs of certain sporting events. The last tournaments in 2023 confirmed the Group’s environmental commitment. We observed a 15% increase in the number of low-carbon vehicles for the same event compared with the previous year, 2022.

At these sporting events, our expertise encompasses a multitude of services. To meet the needs of all our clients, Chabé offers, in addition to the event transport service, a transfer service to and from stations and airports for the arrival and departure of sports players, VIPs, the organising team, etc.

In addition to this expertise in managing the travel of players, staff and others, the family business also offers a punctual transport service for individuals wishing to travel to the event venue, as well as for all travel before and after the event.

An events service that goes beyond borders

Chabé’s expertise in the field of sports events has therefore developed well both in France and internationally, and we continue to establish ourselves as a leading international player in event transport.
The strategic location of our various agencies and our network of international partners means we can support you throughout your event, wherever it takes place.

For each sporting event, a project team made up of a project manager, experienced planners, dispatchers and coordinators deploys its expertise to manage the transport of events that are often out of the ordinary, involving up to 300 chauffeurs.

A team of experts is dedicated to managing the transport of events upstream of the event for each client in France and abroad.
After analysing requirements, a site survey is organised to propose the best route between passenger departures and arrivals.

On site, the teams recruit, select, train, supervise and coordinate, with the utmost discretion, to ensure that the transport experience matches the events imagined by its customers.

In addition, a team is dedicated to IT and admin support for the event, available 24/7.
Whether it’s an event with just a few cars or a large-scale event, everything is thought out and put in place to ensure that transport fits in as naturally as possible with what has preceded it or what will follow.

Today, the family business is proud to share the story of Anthony Dampa, a committed and passionate employee.

After obtaining his HR degree, Anthony Dampa decided to continue his studies in organisational management. At the same time, he joined Chabé in 2017 as a professional chauffeur, working on a series of fixed-term contracts. “I’ve never seen this job as a constraint. I started at the Paris International Air Show, and I immediately developed a real passion for my profession” shares Anthony. This vision and his commitment will enable him to sign his first permanent contract with the family business in 2019.

In 2020, thanks to his studies and his professionalism, Anthony is helping to organise a sporting event that is highly prized both in France and internationally. Asked to help again in 2021, Anthony says: “Thanks to my years as a professional chauffeur, I know what it’s like on the ground. That’s a real plus during interviews, as I can easily get a feel for the candidate based on their profile, presentation and way of expressing themselves, and above all test their knowledge of the city“. This opportunity gives her a new perspective on his future career

From October 2021, Anthony Dampa will be moving on and enthusiastically embarking on his new role as Chauffeur Recruiter and Training. Thanks to his dedication and rigour, in 2023 he was appointed Manager of the same department, responsible for driver monitoring and quality control. To prepare this year’s events as effectively as possible, Anthony has trained and manages a team of 4 people.

Anthony Dampa - Responsable du recrutement et de la formationChauffeur follow-up is essential” explains Anthony. “Initially, we collect applications, organise interviews and test their knowledge of the city. Once the future chauffeurs have been recruited, we put in place an ongoing training programme based on Chabé’s quality standards. Chauffeurs receive detailed information on how to prepare for each journey, with an emphasis on the cleanliness of the vehicle, personal appearance, how to present themselves, etc. Their mission is to guarantee an exceptional customer experience. This includes punctuality, communication of the expected journey time, and attention to passenger comfort… In addition to quality standards, chauffeurs must acquire a deep knowledge of the city’s topography and tourist information. During this training, they also have the opportunity to discover Chabé’s characteristic values and expertise.

As experienced professional chauffeurs, they know how to adapt to every type of clientele. All speak French and English, and many have a command of a third language.

During specific events, I visit the site to ensure that assignments are running smoothly and to exchange advice, always with a view to continuous improvement. I’m proud to work for Chabé, because my professional development goes hand in hand with my desire to help the Group grow.”

Chabé is a fast-growing company on a human scale, encouraging versatility and giving everyone the opportunity to express their talents. Team spirit, essential to the smooth running of operations, is omnipresent, as is customer culture.

In the last few years, Chabé has gradually developed its environmental commitment through a number of concrete actions. With a more eco-responsible fleet, plant-based bottles, a partnership with the GoodPlanet Foundation and its contribution to carbon neutrality, the Group is evolving to become a major player in the fight against climate change in its field.

In 2022, Chabé joins the Great Challenge to rethink its role and responsibility in the face of this ecological challenge.

FROM THE ORIGINS OF THE PROJECT TO THE GREAT CONSULTATION

The creation

The ecological Great Challenge stems from an environmental observation: global warming. The question surrounding this issue is how to stem the tide.

These days, businesses play an important role in the ecological transition. As key players in the fight against climate change and the decline in biodiversity, it is vital for companies to join forces. This is the purpose of the Great Challenge:

Mobilising businesses and their ecosystems to create a new
model of economic prosperity, humanist and regenerative

Networks of companies, trade unions, associations and institutions, scientists, managers, students and citizens: the Great Challenge brings together a wide range of partners to strengthen its legitimacy and promote its deployment. Thanks to the financial support received from the sponsors, the ecological Great Challenge has gone from being a project to Great Consultation.

An environmental survey

Through an inclusive and participatory process, Virginie Raisson-Victor and Jérôme Cohen, founders of the Great Challenge, want to bring companies together in the form of a “citizens’ convention”. The ultimate aim of the Great Challenge is to generate 100 proposals in favour of the environment.

Therefore, before any initiative, it is essential to carry out a survey of stakeholders in order to identify environmental obstacles and opportunities. This survey is officially known as the “Great Consultation”.

After several weeks of data processing by Bluenove, the Great Consultation will gather over 65,000 responses. Thanks to all this feedback, the project will move on to a new stage: the Great Deliberation.

THE GREAT DELIBERATION

Random drawing

After analysing the results, a draw was held to select several companies. At the end of the Great Challenge, these companies will be asked to put forward 100 proposals for overcoming environmental obstacles.

Thanks to this selection process, the companies chosen represent the diversity of the French economic fabric in the best possible way, based on four key criteria: number of employees, business sector, geographical location and company status.

From a base of 120,000 INSEE companies, 18,000 were selected to take part in this ecological challenge. In the end, only 100 companies were selected, and then had to nominate a manager, shareholder or employee to become a Delegate.

In May 2022, Chabé received the news of its participation and chose Flora Chaise, CSR Manager within the Group, to represent the family business as Delegate.

The start of reflection

Following the draw, 6 sessions of 2 days each follow. Each plenary meeting is accompanied by experts of climate, biodiversity and the economy, to give the Delegates the best possible training and advice.

Each meeting, held in a different city, deals with a predefined theme:

A total of 50 conferences and 150 workshops were held over a period of 7 months to generate effective ideas. Following the Great Deliberation, 100 of these ideas were selected to move on to the next stage: the Great Diffusion, during which they will be communicated and shared.

THE GREAT DIFFUSION

The 100 proposals are divided into 11 topics: Governance, Commitment, Financing, Production Tools, Production, Logistics, Packaging, Distribution, Communication, Accounting and Remuneration.

In the form of an action manual, this booklet of 100 proposals is being distributed to business networks, Great Challenge partners, political players (President, government, elected representatives) and academic institutions.

Communicated to all, the objective remains the same since the Great Consultation: to accelerate our ecological transition and become a committed player in environmental issues.

Chabé actively supports the Great Challenge initiatives. The Group has already taken concrete action on some of the proposals, such as establishing a purpose associated with environmental objectives. In addition, the family business has implemented a packaging recycling system, the latest ecological innovation being the use of plant-based bottles.

The other proposals, which are feasible in our sector of activity, represent a real challenge for Chabé. Developing employee training and setting ambitious environmental targets – these new challenges will enable the family business to make a significant contribution to preserving the environment in the years to come.

After France, Switzerland, Monaco and the UK, Chabé is continuing to expand internationally with the opening of an office in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.

At the end of 2022, Chabé took the strategic decision to set up in Dubai to offer a bespoke , differentiated and responsible chauffeured services across the country and the Gulf.

The project came to fruition with the acquisition of TLT Limo, a local car transport service provided by a chauffeur company renowned for the quality of its services and sharing the same values of excellence as Chabé. TLT Limo’s clients include several luxury hotels in Dubai, such as the Four Seasons Jumeirah, the Four Seasons DIFC, the Mandarin Oriental and the iconic Burj Al Arab.

Laurent Euzet Dubai, chauffeur privé dubai, transport privé dubai tlt limoChabé Dubai is headed up by Laurent Euzet, who was previously head of Chabé Cannes and helped launch several of the Group’s other agencies, particularly in Monaco and the Alps.
The team on site has almost 40 people and a fleet of 35 vehicles: Mercedes V-Class, S-Class, Lexus, Cadillac Escalade, etc. Between now and the end of the year, we will be integrating new, latest-generation, low-carbon vehicles, in particular the new BMW I7, in order to offer a responsible transport service in line with the country’s objectives and the Group’s strategy.

Opening our new office in Dubai is a key step in our development. We are convinced that our expertise, our highly personalised approach and our strong commitment to sustainable mobility will enable us to offer a new transport experience with a level of service unrivalled in the region,” shares Guillaume Connan, CEO of the Group.

Chabé is now present in 5 countries – France, Switzerland, Monaco, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates – with its own teams and fleet of vehicles. In addition to its own resources, the Group has forged strong partnerships with the best operators around the world, enabling it to accompany its customers wherever they go with the same level of quality.

DISCOVER THE NEW OFFICE

As part of its CSR approach and as an extension of its personalised customer experience, Chabé is replacing the water bottles provided to its passengers with new bottles of plant-based origin.

In 2020, the Group changed its bottles for new Evian bottles without labels. These 40cl bottles were made entirely from recycled materials and were 100% recyclable.
Distributed for the out-of-home consumption channel only, Evian paved the way for new, more sustainable containers.

Today, Chabé is renewing its ecological approach by adopting new plant-based bottles to reduce its carbon footprint.

Bouteille eau Chabé Drop by Drop

These new bottles, manufactured by Drop by Drop, are made from FSC®-certified cardboard sourced from responsibly managed forests, guaranteeing an environmentally-friendly approach. The aluminium used in these bottles is also ASI (Aluminium Stewardship Initiative) certified, and its thin layer, eight times thinner than a human hair, preserves the quality of the water without the risk of contamination by microplastics or cardboard taste.

At Chabé, we understand the importance of a customisable customer experience and the impact of visual personalisation. In harmony with our ecological approach, we offer the possibility of personalising these water bottles with the colours of your establishment, your brand or your event. Whether you’re a luxury hotel, an event organiser or a concierge service, you can now associate your visual identity with an environmentally-friendly water bottle solution.

By choosing our plant-based water bottles, you’re demonstrating your commitment to sustainability while offering your clients a personalised experience. Every aspect of this bottle, from the Bonsucro-certified sugarcane caps to the packaging that respects key production indicators, demonstrates our commitment to supporting eco-responsible practices.

Chabé’s move to adopt these plant-based bottles and offer customisation tailored to your needs illustrates our commitment to sustainable innovation and our desire to reduce our carbon footprint.

Together, let’s make every sip of water an opportunity to promote your brand and contribute to a more environmentally friendly future.

Reducing our carbon footprint is a necessity. Chabé is committed to an accelerated transition of its vehicle fleet, adopting less polluting models as they become available. Three new low-carbon models have recently joined the Chabé fleet.

We’re finding that more and more clients want to travel by environmentally-friendly means,” explained Guillaume Connan, the Group’s Chairman, in an interview in 2022. The numerous journeys made by Chabé customers are a powerful lever for reducing CO2 emissions.

As part of its commitment to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), Chabé is continuing to expand its fleet of low-carbon vehicles. Initiating the transition to a greener fleet by rolling out the electrification of its vehicle fleet has therefore become a priority. That’s why, for several months now, Chabé has been upgrading its vehicles, welcoming the new low-carbon BMW i7, Mercedes EQE and Range Rover P440e.

Chabé flotte écoresponsable BMWi7At the end of 2022, the BMW i7 will join Chabé’s prestige fleet. This all-electric vehicle is powered by an xDrive60 engine. France 3 Ile de France talks about our French expertise in a short report:

Fashion Week, a veritable institution in the world of fashion, is a major event which brings together the greatest designers, models, celebrities and fashion enthusiasts from all over the world. This effervescent period, when cities are transformed into veritable runways, is a must for lovers of trends and glamour!
With just one week to go before the launch of Men’s Fashion Week in Paris, Chabé takes a look back at the history of Fashion Week, its beginnings, organization and development around the world.

Fashion Week offers fashion designers a unique platform to showcase their latest creations and inspirations. Designers often work for months to prepare their collections, drawing inspiration from current trends and the cultural elements of their environment. The fashion shows that take place during Fashion Week are grandiose spectacles of creativity and innovation. The runways are filled with models sporting the latest trends, from the most elegant evening gowns to the trendiest casual outfits.

Fashion Week is in a state of flux, with the arrival of new technologies and new designers, including the eagerly awaited Louis Vuitton Première Collection by Pharrell Williams

But first, let’s take a look back at the beginnings of fashion week…

The story of fashion week

Paris is the capital of fashion and creation, but it wasn’t in this city that Fashion Week was conceived and invented, but in New York!

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Charles Worth and Paul Poiret organized a series of sumptuous balls where guests were invited to come dressed in their finest, allowing them to discover their latest creations worn by men and women, an early version of the fashion show.

In 1943, Eleanor Lambert, an influential figure in the fashion industry, launched “Press Week” in New York. This visionary event, held at the Plaza Hotel, brought together only local and national press to promote American fashion and rival the influence of Paris. Press Week laid the foundations for what would become Fashion Week, a concept adopted by cities around the world.

The first official Paris Fashion Week took place in 1973, with the creation of the Fédération Française de la Couture, and the inauguration of a show that would truly revolutionize fashion history!
Dubbed the “Battle of Versailles“, the show, which took place during an event entitled France Amérique, highlighted the tensions between the Paris and New York fashion scenes. To raise funds for the restoration of the Château de Versailles, five French and five American designers presented their collections. On the French side, Yves Saint Laurent, Emanuel Ungaro, Christian Dior (then headed by Marc Bohan), Pierre Cardin and Hubert de Givenchy. On the American side, Anne Klein, Halston, Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blass and Stephen Burrows took to the runway. This historic confrontation not only captivated the public, it also marked a decisive turning point in the recognition of American fashion and helped redefine the boundaries of the international fashion industry.

Fashion Weeks across the globe

Each Fashion Week has its own character and signature, reflecting the essence of the city that hosts it. Paris, the fashion capital, is renowned for its timeless elegance and legendary fashion houses. New York, thanks to the vision of Eleanor Lambert, shines with bold, urban style, showcasing promising young talent.

Milan is famous for its sophisticated allure and incomparable craftsmanship. London, cradle of the avant-garde, stands out for its eccentricity and innovative spirit. Other emerging and surprising cities have also joined the movement, bringing a breath of fresh air to the fashion scene. From the runwayss of Berlin, famous for their audacity and diversity, to the runways of São Paulo, which highlight Latin American culture, each Fashion Week offers a unique experience for participants.

The three main types of Fashion Weeks

Fashion Week is a long, multi-season cycle that recurs several times a year.

First, Haute Couture Week, which takes place exclusively in Paris in January and July. This is an opportunity for the most prestigious fashion houses to showcase their exquisite, bespoke creations.

Then there’s Men’s Fashion Week. Initially centered on Milan, it has expanded to the four major fashion axes and is held just before Haute Couture Week, in January and July. This week highlights the latest trends and creations in men’s fashion.

Finally, we have Ready-to-wear week. This intense month of fashion shows generally takes place in February/March and September/October. It is dedicated to the presentation of ready-to-wear collections, aimed at a wider public.

Chabé Fashion Week transport chauffeur privé paris

The choice of show periods can seem out of phase with the seasons. For example, unveiling winter collections in March and summer collections in September may seem odd. However, this is done to enable the factories to produce the necessary pieces and distribute them to the boutiques in good time.

What’s more, by holding several fashion weeks throughout the year, the industry remains dynamic and can respond to the ever-changing expectations of consumers. These events showcase the latest innovations and support emerging talent, while providing a global showcase for the fashion industry. Fashion Weeks also play an essential role in showcasing new creators, designers and trends.

Fashion Week, more than just an event…

In addition to showcasing the latest fashion trends, Fashion Week is also an important meeting place for those involved in the fashion industry. Fashion designers, buyers, journalists and influencers gather to share ideas and experiences, discuss current trends and exchange ideas on the future of the fashion industry. Exclusive evenings organized during Fashion Week also offer the opportunity to meet personalities from the world of fashion and celebrity.

Finally, Fashion Week is also an opportunity for the fashion industry to focus on important issues related to sustainability and social responsibility. Fashion designers are increasingly aware of their impact on the environment and society, and are looking to adopt sustainable practices to reduce their ecological and social footprint. Fashion Week therefore offers a unique opportunity for fashion designers to present sustainable and responsible collections, and to raise public awareness of sustainability issues in the fashion industry.

Fashion Week is an essential event for the fashion industry. It gives fashion designers the opportunity to showcase their latest creations, industry players the chance to meet and share ideas, and raise public awareness of sustainability issues in the fashion industry.
It’s a global showcase where trends are created and reinvented. In this effervescent whirlwind, Chabé positions itself as the trusted partner for luxury transportation services at Fashion Weeks. World Environment Day* is the opportunity for the Group to reaffirm its commitment and look back at its latest environmental advances. Electrifying its fleet, raising employee awareness, discover how Chabé has reinforced its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) since 2019.

AN EVOLVING FLEET

“We are observing that more and more clients want to travel by environmentally friendly transport“, explained Guillaume Connan, current CEO during an interview in 2022. The many transportation made by Chabé clients make them a powerful lever for reducing CO2 emissions. Starting the transition towards a greener fleet with the deployment of electric vehicles became a priority.

In 2022, Chabé becomes the first French company to take delivery of the EQV, as well as the BMW i7 and Mercedes EQE vehicles, all fully electric.
Today, in addition to a young fleet, with an average age of 18 months, low carbon vehicles (electric, hybrid and hydrogen) represent 52% of the Group’s total fleet, compared with 27% in 2020. This evolution of the Chabé fleet has led to adjustments in terms of infrastructure, with the installation of 13 charging stations, including 4 dual charging stations, as well as an ultra-fast charging stations.

The ambition of a 100% electric fleet may take several years. This is why, in the meantime, the family business wanted to contribute to offsetting its CO2 emissions by financing projects to reduce other emissions and to carry out carbon sequestration. It is in this context that the partnership with the GoodPlanet Foundation and Chabé was born.

PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GOODPLANET FOUNDATION

In this challenge to achieve carbon neutrality, in 2021 the Group joined forces with the GoodPlanet Foundation. The foundation’s main missions are to develop solidarity field projects, raise awareness and helping companies and institutions, always in this environmental dimension.

Through its contribution, Chabé has played a part in the household waste recovery in Cameroon, Togo and Madagascar, the diffusion of solar cookers in Bolivia and the development of new projects Developing Countries (DC) and Least Developed Countries (LDC). These concrete projects have generated positive results, which is a real source of pride for Chabé.

Following this event, the family business makes its commitment concrete by recruiting a new employee dedicated exclusively to its environmental ambitions.

CREATION OF A SPECIALISED POST, CSR MANAGER

Chabé is continuing its momentum and in 2021 recruits Flora Chaise, the Group’s CSR Manager.

« Creating a full-time CSR manager position in a medium-sized company is already a strong signal. My role is to bring more structure and follow-up to Chabé’s CSR approach. » explains Flora Chaise. The arrival of a new employee specialising in CSR is synonymous with change for the family business. « First of all, we are going to carry out a carbon assessment to better understand Chabé’s major challenges, and establish an action plan based on the results obtained. » adds Flora.

First carbon assessment

In 2021, Chabé realises its first carbon assessment to evaluate the impact of its activity over the years 2020 and 2021. The aim is to define an action plan to reduce the most significant impacts as a priority.

The Group wants to demonstrate its commitment, not only by monitoring indicators, but also by revisiting its identity, with the creation of a raison d’être.

Definition of a raison d’être

Confirming its commitment to CSR was essential, this is why, in 2022, Chabé reworked its raison d’être:

« To be an essential but invisible actor of a desirable mobility,
committed to an inclusive society and a sustainable world »

This raison d’être has been developed with Chabé’s employees and shareholders in order to share the Group’s vision and role in our society. This redefinition of its identity also defines a line of conduct for the most important decisions.

Finally, it is essential to underline that Chabé’s environmental commitment is not limited to its fleet of vehicles.

ECOLOGICAL ACTIONS

Eco-driving and Waste management

All our chauffeurs are trained in eco-driving encouraging smoother driving that helps reduce CO2 emissions. All of our teams implement the recycling of consumables wherever possible, including ink cartridges, washing water, water bottles, etc. In addition, Chabé has innovated by replacing the water bottles made available to its passengers with new, unlabeled Evian bottles, a first in France. These 40cl bottles are made entirely from recycled material and 100% recyclable.

European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW)

In 2022, Chabé took part in the European Sustainable Development Week, a global event aimed at raising awareness among its employees through various objectives. The family business focused on employees’s awarness by offering them challenges linked to the environmental protection. This initiative confirms Chabé’s position as a responsible employer.

AN AWARD-WINNING CSR APPROACH

This year, 2023, marks a turning point in the Group’s CSR certification by Ecovadis, a worldwide provider of business sustainability ratings which assesses the sustainability performance.
Chabé has been awarded the silver medal with an overall score of 61 points out of 100, compared with the bronze medal in 2021, placing it in the top 25% of best-performing companies in all business sectors. This achievement underlines Chabé’s progress in CSR performance.

This retrospective marks the constant evolution of Chabé’s CSR commitment. The CSR policy is a real opportunity to create value and give a profound meaning to all the Group’s stakeholders.
The Group’s CSR strategy goes beyond environmental considerations. Chabé is committed to adopt a responsible employer policy, offering long term employment, with 84% of employees on permanent contracts, and investing in their development and career progression through training. The vision is to welcome, recognise and promote all talents in a spirit of inclusion and diversity.

Chabé has a global vision of CSR strategy, driven by an unwavering determination to make a lasting impact.

* Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and held annually on 5 June since 1973, World Environment Day is the largest global platform for environmental public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people across the world.

Expert in bespoke journeys, Chabé has recently acquired a new generation prestige vehicle. Born from the merger between Mercedes-Benz and the former Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director, Virgil Abloh, the Mercedes-Maybach S Class S680 completes our luxury fleet

Redefining luxury was the objective of this cooperation. A unique and futuristic work, the Virgil Abloh combines technological prowess and avant-garde design.

Created by Mercedes-Benz’s customization and craftsmanship team at the Sindelfingen factory, the S-Class is distinguished first by its aesthetics. A two-tone desert harmony of black and sand, a special “Mercedes-Maybach Virgil Abloh” logo, cushions and headrests in Nappa leather, comfort worthy of first-class.

Strictly limited to 150 units, the Mercedes-Maybach pushes the limits of experience. The comfort and space in the back of the vehicle are sufficient for working on your computer, especially during roadshows or business trips with a private chauffeur. There is a fridge to keep your drink cold and for any extras, a bottle of champagne can be provided on request. The highest levels of craftsmanship condensed into one vehicle.

The cooperation with Abloh is just one way in which Mercedes-Maybach stays grounded in innovation and evolution. A unique logo inscribed on the middle of the centre console, black floor mats with sand-coloured leather trim, at this level of prestige, even the smallest details of the S-Class strengthens its luxurious appearance.

At Chabé, we see technology as a means of providing an “enhanced service” to our clients. Two years ago, Guillaume Connan, President of the Group, said in an interview that “the future of mobility will be digital, on the condition that the technology allows us to improve the passenger experience”. This prediction is now coming true. The limited-edition S-Class is equipped with a customised user interface, which presents to the driver an even more luxurious variant of Maybach’s MBUX system.  Handpicked visual elements are used to enrich the digital content: from the home button with coloured border to profile pictures decorated with luxurious fashion accessories.

Sometimes a video is worth a thousand words, discover the luxurious Mercedes-Maybach by Virgil Abloh in one minute:

Chabé, expert in bespoke journeys since 1921, is delighted to welcome Joël Chan Thaw as Group Operations Director. With significant experience in the hospitality and premium concierge industries, Joël brings a wealth of expertise in terms of quality management, organization and customer experience. We had the opportunity to speak with him to learn more about his career path, his motivations and his vision for Chabé.

Chabé_Joel_Chan_Thaw_chauffeur_prive_paris

Can you tell us about your previous experiences in the hotel and concierge industry and how that prepared you for your current role at Chabé?

I worked in various French, American and Dutch luxury hotel groups as a revenue management trainee, then in sales roles, before moving into quality as a Quality Manager and reaching the position of General Manager. I also had the opportunity to open two hotels in Paris. After the Covid period, I joined the premium concierge company John Paul, a subsidiary of the Accor group, as Director of Operations. My previous experiences allowed me to develop skills in organization, talent management, customer experience and emotions, skills that are useful in my current role at Chabé.

Why did you join Chabé?

I joined Chabé because it is a century-old family business, expert in its field, in full development and which continues to expand its services offered, its structure, its presence in the world, the customer experience and the management of its talents. I was convinced by the vision of Guillaume Connan, President of the Group, and these exchanges confirmed my desire to join the Chabé family, it was obvious!

What are the main challenges you have encountered since your arrival at Chabé in February 2023 as Group Operations Director?

One of the main challenges I have encountered since my arrival at Chabé is to learn about a new sector, that of transportation. It was therefore important for me to take the time to talk to the various employees, such as chauffeurs, dispatchers, sales representatives, consultants, human resources, project managers, as well as customers. In short, I took the time to immerse myself in the company, by being on the ground and close to the teams and clients, in order to better understand it and thus propose relevant solutions to move the group forward.

How does Chabé work to ensure customer satisfaction and provide an exceptional experience?

Customer satisfaction is a priority at Chabé, and all our employees are committed to this approach. To achieve this, we have redefined the roles and responsibilities of each of our operational departments to be more responsive and have set up a data quality and field quality department. We also offer training to our chauffeurs, focusing on customer experience and emotions, and support our consultants in personalizing their proposals. We believe that the success of a company depends on a clear and precise structure, performance indicators, the development of its employees’ skills and the recruitment of new talent.

How do you see the future of Chabé and what are the upcoming projects for the company?

I am convinced that the future of Chabé is very promising. As Group Operations Director, I am proud to join a company that is a centenary expert in its field, in full development and in constant evolution. Our ambition is to continue to evolve in order to maintain a high level of quality, to satisfy our existing clients and to expand our international presence by opening new branches in the years to come.

In addition, we are investing in innovative technological solutions to improve our service, while maintaining our personalized approach. In addition, we are concerned about environmental issues and offer a fleet of electric vehicles to meet our clients’ expectations.

I am confident that our ambition and commitment to quality and innovation will enable us to maintain our position as an expert in the custom transportation market, thanks in particular to our teams of passionate and experienced professionals who are the cornerstone of our company. We will continue to invest in their training and professional development to maintain our level of excellence and guarantee our clients’ long-term satisfaction.

JOINT INTERVIEW

3 questions to Paul and Alphonse, Chauffeurs at Chabé London.

Three month ago, Chabé expanded its low carbon fleet with brand-new, luxury all-electric BMW i7. The Group was the first chauffeur operator to receive the car in the UK. The Group has now ordered 30 vehicles across the Group, and over the past three months the car has been presented to customers in Paris, London and Monaco.

We asked two of our UK chauffeur team for the first round of feedback. Discover their testimonial below.

Paul Bhamra and Alphonse Kablan

Alphonse : It looks amazing, people have stopped me on the street to check over the vehicle. The ride is exceptionally smooth. Luggage space is great.

It is so easy but still engaging to drive in the different modes.

Paul : Fantastic ride quality, comfort for passengers and chauffeurs… it has real road presence with the front lights in the BMW famous grill shape.

With the overall range, charging is not causing any issues when our day is planned well.

Alphonse : Passenger comfort is amazing and they are all surprised that it’s a fully electric car. The passenger focused technology allows personal involvement with the car even on short journeys – music, temperature, seat position – its quick and easy to operate from the back of the car.

Paul : The ability to interact with the car, including being able to mirror your phone to the digital screen, overall connectivity and seating comfort – are all aspects that receive great feedback for both corporate and hotel guests.

All passengers have mentioned zero emissions and are surprised by the battery range of the vehicle.

In addition, the many passengers comment on how amazingly smooth the ride is.

Alphonse : A great car!

Paul : A game changer!

INTERVIEW – Guillaume Connan

Digital, international, CSR : Guillaume Connan, CEO of Chabé, looks back on the highlights of 2022 and the Group’s prospects for 2023.

Renewal is the first word which comes to my mind. First, we’ve just ended a period of 2 tough years during which our customers couldn’t travel as they wished. This led to great frustration, and they made up for lost time in 2022. We witnessed a tremendous liberation. Our customers wanted to travel again, even more than before. However, they paid more attention to travel quality and security, and it has clearly benefited us. We experienced record demand for our services wherever we operate.

Renewal again: in 2022, Chabé benefited from initiatives that we had prepared during previous years. Firstly, we focused on our international development, with brand-new foreign subsidiaries and our network expansion. Secondly, we developed our digital strategy, with the implementation of tools aimed to further improve the customer journey. Finally, we continued working on our CSR approach. We have achieved key milestones. For example, our vehicle fleet has been predominantly low carbon since the end of 2022.

Our international development was undoubtedly the greatest success. One year after its opening, Chabé Ltd (our UK subsidiary) has become one of the top local operators and is already recognized as the one offering the best quality of service.

Our affiliate network is now operational in 100 countries and skyrocketed in 2022, with increasing number of key customers using the service to meet their transportation needs wherever they go. Finally, we demonstrated our ability to manage large-scale events everywhere in the world, with a busy line-up that we had never experienced before.

We will carry on developing abroad, with new subsidiaries opening, while strengthening our network and our international events team. We will also develop new digital tools, and we would like to accelerate our CSR commitment.

This is in line with the strategy deployed for three years now. We will also innovate in the customer experience field, with even higher quality of service as our final goal. We are experts in bespoke mobility, and we aspire to assert ourselves as a responsible luxury brand.

CSR is a pillar of Chabé’ s strategy. For the past few years, the Group’s CSR approach has intensified. Chabé has made it part of the company aims and has included it in its statutes.

This brand-new year is a starting point in the evolution of the Group’s CSR certification by Ecovadis.

But let’s start by asking the following question: what is Ecovadis?

Ecovadis is a worldwide provider of business sustainability ratings which assesses the sustainability performance of a range of French and/or international companies, whatever their industry or size.

The point rating system integrates 4 dimensions, as follows:

Ecovadis then weights these 4 dimensions according to the business sector in order to build an overall score.

The certification relies on an overall score (0-100 points) with medals (platinum, gold, silver, bronze) awarded to the best-performing companies.

The certification is of great significance, both for BtoB relations (and especially in selecting suppliers, customers, and providers, among others) and in measuring companies’ social and environmental impact.

This year, Chabé has won the Ecovadis silver medal with an overall score of 61 points out of 100. The company ranks in the top 25 of best-performing companies in all business sectors. If we compare Chabé’s results with those in our industry sector, the Group scored above average in all categories.

Chabé first applied for certification in November 2021 and won a bronze medal. The new medal awarded to the Group highlights the company’s progress in terms of CSR performance and choices.

Let’s look back together on 2022.

As an expert in bespoke journeys, Chabé continued its overseas development. We put our know-how and expertise to work during complex events in the luxury, fashion, sports, jewelry and banking industries.

Chabé was chosen to provide personalised service to meet the highest transportation expectations at 14 prestigious events held in eleven countries.

From Morocco to Japan, as well as to the United States, Egypt and Dubai, Chabé continued to support its customers all over the world, covering four out of five continents. For each project, Chabé provided a dedicated team of private chauffeurs and operational managers.

As an example, in June and July 2022, Chabé set off for Africa to serve one of the most prestigious French luxury houses. The Group took care of a series of premium trips for a specific event in Morocco which gathered people from all over the world. They came to attend an unprecedented presentation of a hundred pieces from a prestigious high jewelry collection. Around 200 chauffeurs too part.

Other outstanding events took place last year in unusual and exceptional places.

For instance, last May and October, Chabé served two major customers’ events in the United States. Each event lasted a week and attracted luxury customers who came to see the brand-new haute couture and high jewelry collections for the coming season.

Two big events in the haute couture industry took place in Egypt and Japan at the end of the year, and Chabé was chosen for  both events. One of them took place early December in the city of Cairo in Egypt.

-> One of the biggest French luxury brands in the fashion industry organised a show at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Giza, an iconic site listed as part of world heritage since 1979.

It was a unique opportunity to present a colourful new collection in a setting lit up by a thousand lights. During this timeless fashion show, past and future combined and influenced each other. This parallels Chabé’s positioning, which combines tradition and modernity with attention to every detail in order to provide high-quality services at any time.

This outstanding show welcomed nearly 500 hand-picked guests. For 12 days, Chabé provided 300 vehicles to support the event.

The fashion show rounded off a series of luxury events served by Chabé in 2022, both in France and abroad.

What do these events have in common? The answer is simple: high standards, a personalised experience, both for the customer and the passenger, as well as a constant attention to detail for each transfer request.

Participating in such major events isn’t something that can be improvised. For each project, Chabé builds a dedicated coordination team and makes sure it fits in well with each country and the project’s requirements.

For every event, Chabé is committed to providing a bespoke mobility service, tailor-made to each customer’s requests and close to the ground. To this end, location scouting is carried out, while Chabé  sets up a dedicated project team and trains chauffeurs according to the different features and issues of the project.

On site, the teams recruit, select, train, supervise and coordinate, in complete discretion, to ensure that the transport experience matches the events imagined by our clients.
In addition, a team is dedicated to IT and admin support for the event, available 24/7.

The biggest events require around 250 vehicles which are mobilized to serve the most specific requests, plus the expertise of some 20 people in the back office and on the ground.

It is with great enthusiasm and energy that we invite you to join us in 2023 for new mobility and travel experiences around the world. We want to go further, it’s true, but always with the touch of humility, high standards, commitment, passion and professionalism which are the biggest strengths of the Group and which have made its name for over 100 years.

Find out more about our dedicated event transportation services.

From Marocco to Japan, and even the United States or Egypt, Chabé kept on supporting its customers all over the world, with a personalised service designed to meet the highest mobility issues and expectations.

2022 was a particularly eventful year, with a lot of interesting meetings abroad.

We are glad to support our customers (from which luxury brands in the fashion industry, banks, sport federations, travel agencies, hotels, public organisations,…) wherever needed.

Thank you to Chabe’s national and international teams who involved every day and worked with passion and professionalism to satisfy our most demanding customers.

A special thank you to our partners and customers for their trust.

We can’t wait to work or keep working by your side to meet your new challenges for this year and the years to come.

Let’s shape brand new bespoke experiences with you, for you.

Let’s go further and create together your bespoke journey.

Happy New Year 2023 !

The European Week for Sustainable Development, enabled Chabé to strengthen its awareness-raising actions among its employees on sustainable development but also on the Group’s responsible commitments.

In fact, since 2019, Chabé has taken a voluntary approach to CSR and continues to implement committed and responsible actions. CSR has become a pillar of Chabé’s strategy, which aims to be a committed and responsible player.
This commitment is now represented by a raison d’être:

“To be a key but invisible player in a desirable mobility,
committed to an inclusive society and a sustainable world”

This raison d’être allows the Group to inscribe in the company’s purpose a long-term commitment to a responsible future. And to guarantee the continuity of this approach, the raison d’être is included in the preamble to the company’s articles of association.

It refers to the way in which Chabé intends to play a role in society beyond its sole economic activity. It also defines a line of conduct for the most important decisions, in order to give concrete expression to the interests of the Group, of society and of social and environmental considerations.

This raison d’être has been developed with Chabé’s employees and shareholders in order to share the Group’s vision and role in our society.
It is also inspired by all past and present brand elements, as well as Chabé’s CSR approach.

For three weeks, Chabé is participating in the global event, the European Week for Sustainable Development, which aims to raise awareness of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. The aim is to organise concrete actions related to these goals for all and for the good of all.

The theme of the 2022 edition of the international event is “Acting Everyday“, a theme that makes sense for Chabé and corresponds to its CSR approach.

“As we strive to operate an environmentally-friendly and ethical business, CSR is a significant part of Chabé’s business strategy.” explains Guillaume Connan, President of the Group. “To succeed, whether for major projects or our everyday activities, CSR needs to be thoroughly integrated into our operations and involve all our stakeholders, starting with Chabé’s employees.” add Guillaume Connan.

Our commitment goes beyond operating low and soon zero emission vehicles. It includes changing the way we operate and adopting best practices to reduce our overall footprint.
It also is about treating employees well, with sustainable and fairly paid jobs and ensuring clients’ safety and overall satisfaction.

MORE INFORMATION ON CHABÉ’S CSR COMMITMENT

Throughout the year, Chabé involves its employees in awareness-raising activities on various subjects such as global warming, carbon footprint, recycling, etc. In addition, the Group organises various workshops on well-being at work with external speakers.

During the SEDD event, Chabé is mobilising its employees for sustainable development by offering them a challenge every three days for three weeks.
Through this action, the Group wishes to raise awareness of the importance of the environment and of acting for the planet.
The communications sent out include a variety of challenges that are perfectly feasible and correspond to a theme of the objectives related to sustainable development, for example

All of these communications are accompanied by advice on how to work better within the company and anecdotes with hard-hitting figures that allow us to take into consideration what is happening in our society today.

It is important to take action on a daily basis for the good of the planet and this is exactly what Chabé wanted to convey by setting up small challenges, which will be implemented in the medium/long term in a sustainable manner.

All this confirms Chabé’s position as a responsible employer.

For more information, please read the CSR report

From 18 September to 8 October 2022, the European Sustainable Development Week is back, providing an opportunity for the Group to review its latest committed and responsible actions.

It should be remembered that since 2019, Chabé has initiated strong CSR initiatives, important and innovative in the passenger transport sector.

“Ambitiously and proactively moving forward in this direction will give us a significant advantage over our competitors and will set us apart.” explains Guillaume Connan.
“We even hope to create a ripple effect for other companies, particularly our competitors and trade associations, who have not yet adopted this approach. Being a leader in our field means that we can hopefully achieve this, so that our CSR initiative has the greatest possible impact, even beyond Chabé.” underlines the president of Chabé.

The Group’s CSR policy was confirmed with the arrival of Flora Chaise as CSR Manager in September 2021.

The creation of this new post allows Chabé to ensure the development and sustainability of its approach by following its main objective, make CSR an integral part of its daily operations throughout the entire organisation.

To have the greatest possible impact in the shortest time frame, prioritising our actions is essential with three main commitments:

These commitments are based on 9 of the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) defined by the UN:

CSR ESDW - Chabé electric transport responsible transport

Environmental protection:

As a transport operator, Chabé has a great responsibility in terms of CO2 emissions from its vehicle fleet.
The transport sector represents one third of national Greenhouse Gas emissions in France, so it’s essential to rethinking our mobility and make it one of the major challenges our business faces.

This new sustainable mobility is possible with an activity that is part of the circular economy, but also a transition to low-carbon emission vehicles and eco-driving training for chauffeurs.
While all these measures enable the Group to reduce our overall environmental impact, our business continues to emit GHGs and therefore, pollute., which is why, since 2020, Chabé has been contributing to carbon neutrality, in particular through its partnership with the Goodplanet Foundation.

In 2021, for the first time, Chabé conducted a complete carbon footprint assessment of its operations for 2020 and 2021. The aim of this exercise was to better understand the consequences of our business and to define an action plan to prioritise the areas that have the greatest impact. This has also allowed monitoring the progress of actions and the results over time.

The carbon footprint is the first step in establishing an environmental management system. The Groupe now monitor its water, energy and waste consumption and its annual greenhouse gas emissions.

In addition to these actions, Chabé has put in place measures for more responsible purchases and digital technology.

The customer satisfaction:

In April 2021, the Marketing Division introduced a satisfaction questionnaire sent to customers after they had received a bespoke service.
The aim of the questionnaire was to measure the satisfaction of our customers and passengers,

Chabé’s quality of service and success relies on its employees, which is why our role as a responsible employer is an essential part of our CSR policy. The HR Charter outlines our policy, based on six core values: Integrity, respect, fairness, employability, trust, and health & safety.

Sustainable employment, health & safety, training and diversity and inclusion are among the main focuses of the Group’s Human Resources policy.

David Bruce, Director of the London office was the guest on the first Professional Driver podcast, alongside Simon Numphud FIH Managing Director of The AA Media, with Mark Bursa, Editor of Pro Driver Media Ltd.

Hear about Chabé’s history, its partnership with AA Hotel and Hospitality Services and how it provides services for luxury hotels in London.

Chabé is an increasingly key player in the field of event transport.

In the last two months, our teams of experts dedicated to the management of Chabé’s event transportation have handled a dozen major events in 8 countries (France, United States, Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Morocco, Monaco, Switzerland), particularly in the field of sports and luxury.

Chabé’s expertise in event transport has been proven more than once, particularly during events in France in the field of sport, luxury and institutional events, but its know-how has also crossed borders, testing out the composure and team spirit of our teams.

For each event, a project team, consisting of a project manager, experienced plan-ners, dispatchers and coordinators, deploys its know-how to manage the transport of events that are often out of the ordinary and can involve up to 300 chauffeurs.

Prior to the events and for each client, a team of experts is dedicated to managing the transport of events.
After an analysis of needs, location scouting is carried out in order to propose the best itinerary between the departure and arrival of the passengers.

On site, the teams recruit, select, train, supervise and coordinate, in complete dis-cretion, to ensure that the transport experience matches the events imagined by our clients.
In addition, a team is dedicated to the IT and admin support for the event, available 24/7.

Whether it is an event with just a few cars or a large-scale event, everything is de-signed and deployed so that the transport is integrated as naturally as possible into what comes before or after.

Chabé is proving to be a partner of choice for major events.

In recent weeks, two major international sporting events have taken place in Paris, attracting nearly 693,000 visitors.
Thanks to its impeccable organisation and expertise, Chabé was able to redouble its efforts to ensure the transport of its VIP clients.

OVERVIEW OF THE EVENTS IN FIGURES:

4 months of organisation to prepare exceptional events
35 days of operation, 7 days a week
535 chauffeurs aged from 22 to 78 years old
180 partner vehicles for the event, including 112 electric vehicles i. e. more than 62% of the fleet
A fleet of 50 charging stations
10 ground coordinators
A dedicated team of 129 people to ensure the overall coordination of the projects
Nearly 3,700 chauffeur shifts

24,359 transfers in total, i.e. about 3,000 more than in 2021, with a peak of more than 1,650 transfers in one day for one of the events entrusted to Chabé for several years.

Chabé has once again risen to the challenge while offering a transport experience that meets the expectations of its customers and its values.

Indeed, one of the Group’s four values, “Nothing is impossible for Chabé“, was illustrated by the coordination of a new sports event initially planned abroad and organised only a few weeks beforehand in Paris. Chabé was able to find the human and material resources to manage the event in a masterly manner.
At the same time, the family business was able to respond to a sporting event with more than 22,000 transfers thanks to the composure of the teams but also to the team spirit, “One for all, all for one“.

These two international sporting events in Paris confirmed Chabé’s skills as an expert in bespoke mobility and to be ready for the next two years, which will be rich in sensations in terms of major international sports events…

Almost two years ago the French luxury chauffeur business Chabé opened an operation in London. It was a bold move, launching a new operation in the middle of a global pandemic, however it was the perfect timing to hire a team of over 20 experienced professionals ready for when the market returned.

The London operation had to differentiate itself from other mobility and ground transportation providers, not least because the brand was relatively unknown in the UK. The longstanding credentials of the business together with its history as a Parisian luxury brand were perfect differentiators to serve the top end of the London market.

David Bruce Chabé Chauffering London

“Bringing the expertise and know-how of Chabé was an important success factor to the Operation in London. The professional reputation and history of this 100-year-old family business, allows us to differentiate ourselves in a very competitive market.
The branding of Chabé is unlike anything in the UK chauffeur market, it is elegant, Parisian and sophisticated and perfectly positions us to serve the top end of the market” emphasises David Bruce, Director of the Chabé London office.

So how to create a Parisian brand image in the London market?

The family business has been in existence for over 100 years and has constantly developed its proposition to advance the customer experience and service.

The Chabé proposition seeks to seamlessly integrate all elements of a luxury client experience with elegance, finesse and discretion and without fanfare.

Our visual image seeks to portray elegance and discretion whilst illustrating its expertise and the customer experience.

With our growth ambitions, we wanted to break away from how ground transportation has been functionally portrayed, moreover embracing codes of luxury and promoting a more subjective, experiential universe” explains Leslie Moica, Sales & Marketing Director.

With these newly commissioned beautiful images, rather than illustrating a functional output, we wanted to embrace the experience of the client who, discovers a city, sees its monuments, feels the sun, the light…in a luxurious environment. These sensory and poetic images promoted in black and white further enhance the elegance of Chabé.”

The Group’s communication team recently visited London to develop new images to reinforce the luxury Parisian offering now serving one of the largest markets in the world.

We hope you enjoy the images taken in London as much as we enjoyed creating them.

From 7 to 10 April, the modern and contemporary art fair Art Paris Art Fair returned to the Grand Palais Éphémère for its 24th edition, dedicated to nature and the environment.

For the sixth consecutive year, Chabé ensured transportation for organizers and VIPS throughout the event.

The event welcomed 137,371 unique visitors and 707 journalists (including 635 French and 72 from abroad) and highlighted 123 modern and contemporary art galleries from 23 countries, with galleries of authors coming mainly from Europe and other countries.

This year, Art Paris was committed to the environment and biodiversity by promoting eco-responsibility, a first in the art fair world. For the occasion, Chabé proposed a 100% electric transport with 4 EQV.

This action not only makes it possible to combine the Art Paris 2022 approach with Chabé’s vision of the Group’s commitment to the environment, thus establishing itself on the market as a responsible player in the transport sector.

The company is concerned with offering its customers an unrivalled quality of service, through a dedicated team for the event and through its 100% electric fleet. Chabé is well and truly committed to its voluntary and ambitious approach to CSR.

For several months now, events have been taking place gradually, especially in the south of the country, and more particularly in Toulouse.

Present in Toulouse for more than 17 years, the Chabé office in Toulouse ensures the travel of the most influential Toulousians, notably with the dedicated chauffeur service, but also of the clients of the Palaces and 4-star hotels.

In the last few months, the office has noted a positive evolution in the event business, especially with several missions that it has been able to realize for different clients such as :

In the past like today, Chabé’s expertise comes first and foremost from the professional attitude of its chauffeurs and support teams. The personal and professional qualities that forged Chabé’s reputation in its early years are clearly still in evidence today for over 100 years.

We are taking advantage of International Women’s Day to introduce you to some of our women employees around Agnès Lo Jacomo, granddaughter of the founder Maurice Chabé and President of the Group’s Strategic Committee.

On the occasion of the 24th edition of Art Paris and its strong commitment to the environment, Chabé will offer participants a 100% electric transport

As a partner of Art Paris for over six years, Chabé has taken a voluntary and ambitious approach to CSR and, through this partnership, is asserting itself as a responsible player in the transport sector. The transition of its fleet to low-emission vehicles is one of the major axes of its approach.

Founded in 1921 by Maurice Chabé, the family business has seen 4 successive generations with the same ambition: with the same aim of providing a high-quality service for influential clients.

His great-grandson and current CEO, Guillaume Connan has inherited a culture of personal service with a high level of quality, but he adds, “When you’re 100 years old, you look back, but you also look to the future!
Such longevity can be explained by a permanent questioning of the evolution of services according to the needs of the customers.

A more demanding customer base in terms of its ecological footprint

We are observing that more and more customers want to travel by environmentally friendly transport“, adds Guillaume Connan.
To meet this growing demand, the Group was one of the very first French companies to receive the EQV (100% electric Mercedes-Benz van). “We have a very strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) because we are a sustainable luxury brand” says Guillaume Connan.

The family business is conscious that the biggest positive impact on the environment can be achieved with the transition of its fleet of vehicles to less polluting models as they become available on the market.
In addition to the EQVs, the Group received the first plug-in hybrid S Class at the end of 2021 and is committed to renewing the entire S-Class fleet by the end of the first quarter of 2022.
Finally, the company will integrate the new Mercedes EQE, 100% electric sedans, as soon as they become available.

On this day, green vehicles (electric and hybrid) represent 27% of Chabé’s fleet. The three models being electrified by 2022 represent more than 50% of the current fleet.

A responsible commitment beyond electric vehicles

Aware of the necessity to act as of now, Chabé has decided to offset all the carbon emission linked to its transportation services while waiting for the transition to be completed. Data collection has started since October 2020, thanks to the fleet management tool: Masternaut.

A partnership was signed early 2021 with the GoodPlanet Foundation – a recognised public interest foundation aiming to encourage people to take concrete action for the Earth and its inhabitants – to offset its emissions.

Chabé’s commitment goes beyond operating low and soon zero emission vehicles. It includes changing the way we operate and adopting best practices to reduce our overall footprint.
It also is about treating employees well, with sustainable and fairly paid jobs and ensuring clients’ safety and overall satisfaction.

Because a company cannot simply grow without considering the consequences of its acts in the society, it must reinvent itself. The CSR approach leads Chabé to question itself about its activities, its acts, and aims at developing a progressive strategy for its associates, its suppliers, and the environment of the society that surrounds it.

“I believe CSR in not a constraint, but rather an opportunity” conclude Guillaume Connan.

In recent weeks, the world has finally reopened its borders to foreign travelers, an event that is particularly eagerly awaited by business travelers, who are keen to meet their clients and prospects again. At the end of last year, OpinionWay and Corporate Mobilities published the results of the fourth wave of the Business Travel Observatory in France and abroad, carried out for AXA Partners, Les Entreprises du Voyage and the ACCOR Group. This study already gave the business tourism industry a glimpse of an optimistic future. But if travelers are determined to get back on the road, new expectations are emerging, particularly in terms of security and responsibility.

While waiting for international borders to reopen and travel to resume, Chabé has continued to develop its international network with audited and trusted partners in 100 countries, in order to accompany its clients with the same level of service and in compliance with health regulations, each time.

Nivin_Salem_international_transport_chabéDespite the context, and thanks to our teams mobilised 24/7, we were already able to serve our customers in nearly 40 countries around the world last year. Whether for one-off requests or for events involving up to 300 vehicles, we always pay the same attention to the safety of our passengers and the quality of our services,” explains Nivin Salem, the Group’s international Operations Director. “Thanks to the links we have forged with our partners, we are more than ever ready to accompany our customers as they resume their trips and to continue to offer new destinations according to their needs.

In 2011, Chabé opened a new office in Bordeaux, a city famous the world over for its heritage and wine.
For over 10 years now, Laurent Frenkel has been managing the city’s agency and offering our clients bespoke services.
This interview tells you more about one of Chabé’s French offices and the Bordeaux region.

Chabé Laurent Frenkel chauffeur privé Bordeaux Wine TourAs we start a new year, how would you sum up the previous year for the Bordeaux office?

Like all regions that are visited by overseas clients, we have been impacted by the absence of tourists. Nevertheless, and thanks to the implementation of a very strict sanitary protocol which is very reassuring for our passengers, we were able to meet the demand of our clients in the region and from across the border.
We are fortunate to have a diversified clientele, which has enabled us to maintain our activity.

Towards the end of the year, particularly in September and October, we noticed a clear increase in activity, which gave us confidence for the coming year.

What are the office’s plans for 2022?

We have been able to take advantage of the drop in activity to carry out in-depth work on our services and our commitments.
First of all, we have reviewed our sanitary standards with new hygiene measures, which continue to be implemented by our teams and chauffeurs.
Secondly, we want to become a responsible player in the region, with a progressive replacement of our fleet by electric and/or equivalent hybrid vehicles. Chabé has taken a voluntary approach to CSR at Group level, and it is important for this commitment to be reflected at local level.
And of course, we will continue to serve our customers with the same level of quality and high standards.

What services do you offer in Bordeaux?

Our office provides a full range of bespoke transport services with chauffeurs.
First of all, we offer a transfer service from/to the train stations and airports in and around Bordeaux, as well as a dedicated chauffeur service.
We also provide event transport services, which means that we handle transport at events with a team of dedicated coordinators. This service is very important because the Bordeaux area hosts a lot of seminars, professional exhibitions, etc.
And we also organize Wine Tours with a whole range of bespoke tour services for our VIP clients.

What is special about your wine tours?

Thanks to our presence in Bordeaux for more than 10 years and our national presence, we have succeeded in building a relationship of trust with various players, such as 4-star hotels and Palaces, event agencies and also the main players in the wine world. These relationships mean we can offer our clients bespoke services involving the most prestigious châteaux but also wine estates where private families have owned châteaux for centuries.
Our tours are exclusively private, and our clients are pampered and privileged at every stage of their journey.
And finally, what makes our greatest difference and which is our core business, is transport with a chauffeur.
The expertise of Chabé’s chauffeurs is inextricably linked to their interpersonal skills. These skills are equally important to the company. As chauffeurs by vocation, they are committed to offering the best possible experience on each journey. Moreover, our professional chauffeurs have a great knowledge of our region and of the Bordeaux vineyards.
This service can be complemented by a professional tour guide, who is bilingual in French and English, and also fluent in another language.

In your opinion, what makes Chabé Bordeaux different from other private transport companies in the city?

I think the main difference is the quality of our services.
For more than 100 years, Chabé has been led by the family of the founder, Maurice Chabé, a family with the constant aim of providing a high-quality service for influential clients.
Quality has always been part of our DNA, with a service meeting our customers’ expectations.

We also have several offices in France and abroad, allowing us to build a relationship of trust with partners who have the same level of quality as Chabé. So we can serve our customers in France and in over 100 countries around the world.
For example, we can pick up a client from his home, take him to Bordeaux airport and welcome him in another French or foreign city, managing his transport throughout his business or tourist trip.
Whatever the service or destination, the client will always have the same contact person, available and responsive 24 hours a day, which is much appreciated by our clients.
We are able to adapt to the customer’s needs by offering a bespoke service.
Finally, our chauffeurs, who are at the heart of our business, receive ongoing training, are familiar with the codes of luxury and know how to adapt to each type of customer.

Who is this special clientele you call VIP?

Our clientele is very varied, we can serve a company director, as well as a celebrity, wealthy tourists or diplomats… Whatever the type of client, our requirements remain the same.

In Bordeaux, we have a very important clientele in the tourism industry, eager to discover the world of Bordeaux wine.
We also work in the events sector, which is developing more and more, especially since the opening of the new stadium and the Arkéa Arena. Thanks to exclusive partnerships, this has allowed us to expand our activity in the artistic sector by providing transport for artists and technical teams.

We should not forget either that in the area we have important industrial centres, such as aeronautics and space. The companies there have major international contracts which create considerable daily flows and major events that Chabé is regularly asked to take part in.

We also work with several prestigious hotels in and around Bordeaux. We are their partners, and they trust us completely to transport their clients and to develop tour programs.

To conclude this interview, can you share with us some of your favourite places in Bordeaux or the surrounding area?

I would of course mention the village of Saint-Émilion, a medieval village which is a real pearl, and paradoxically the city of Bordeaux, which is often misunderstood but which is really worth a visit. To lose oneself in the pedestrian streets and to enjoy this very particular atmosphere is a journey in itself.
I would also especially mention Dordogne with its magnificent landscapes and magical medieval villages. But alongside these places which are a source of daily excitement to me, I would mention the encounters I’ve made.
I mean the women and men, the chateau owners, cellar masters or restaurant owners who share their passion with us and allow us to truly sense the soul of this region.

Launch of the first events of the year with Fashion Week for Men and Haute Couture in Paris.

From Tuesday 18 to Sunday 23 January, Fashion Week for Men was held in Paris, followed by Haute Couture until Thursday 27 January.

From the Rodin Museum to the Place de la Concorde and the Carreau du Temple, Chabé deployed more than 210 vehicles with chauffeurs over the week to transport VIPs, journalists and employees of the leading luxury brands.

THE OUT-OF-THE ORDINARY EXPERIENCE

Prior to Fashion Week and for each client, a team of experts is dedicated to managing the transport of events.
After an analysis of the needs, a scouting of the location is organized in order to propose the best itinerary between the departure and arrival of the passengers.
During the event, one or more coordinators are assigned to a specific event (fashion show, dinner, photo shoot, etc.).
At the headquarters, a back-office agent is dedicated to IT and admin support for the event and a team, available 24/7, ensures the follow-up of the vehicles in real time.
After the event, a debriefing meeting is organized with our clients and prepare the next Fashion Week in Paris but also internationally.

OpinionWay and Corporate Mobilities have published the results of the fourth wave of the Business Travel Observatory in France and abroad carried out for AXA Partners, Les Entreprises du Voyage and the ACCOR Group. This study suggests that the business tourism sector, which was hit by the health crisis, is in for an optimistic future.

Unveiled on 14 December 2021, the research confirms a recovery in the domestic and European market
Nearly two years after the appearance of Covid and almost a year after the first vaccinations, the recovery observed in June 2021 in domestic and European travel is confirmed, with priority given to client or prospect meetings, in contrast to trade fairs, incentives or intra-company meetings, which will not benefit from the same positive trend.

However, travelers expect suppliers (accommodation, catering and transport) to comply with health regulations and to provide eco-responsible services.²
Tomorrow’s business travel will have to be considered in the light of new forms of work organisation, the continuing importance of health issues, profitability and productivity, but also, and to a lesser extent, the environmental impact of travel” explains the Observatory.

Chabé took advantage of the health crisis to review its hygiene and safety requirements with the introduction of new provisions such as:

Chabé wins Gold QSi Award in the UK’s only national awards for the private hire, taxi and chauffeur sector

London-based company takes Gold in the New-Start Operator category

A night to remember for Britain’s chauffeur and private hire industry

London-based Chabé has won the Gold Award in the New-Start Operator category of the prestigious Professional Driver QSi Awards. The New-Start Operator Award aims to reward private hire, taxi and chauffeur businesses that have only recently become established in the market. Chabé launched its UK operation in 2020, during the Covid pandemic.

David Bruce, UK CEO said: “I am delighted the Chabé team achieved the Gold QSI Award for New-Start Operator. To achieve such industry recognition, in a relatively short period of time, is an amazing testament to all the hard work and passion the team have put into starting the business. Here is to 2022 and building the business with an incredible team of people.

Professional Driver Editor Mark Bursa added: “With a vastly experienced team and strong backing, Chabé has been a textbook case study in how to do everything right. With a growing fleet of luxury cars and a growing reputation for quality, the company is a thoroughly well-deserved Gold winner.”

Gold, Silver and Bronze awards were presented in 10 categories at an event, held at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, South Wales.

The 10 categories mean there’s something for every size and type of operator, from one-man bands to large fleets. Categories also reward innovations in marketing, environmental performance and local community activities, while a special award – Professional Driver of the Year – singles out a chauffeur or private hire driver who is judged to be the best in the UK.

Mark Bursa said: “The private hire, taxi and chauffeur industry has made an enormous contribution to keeping Britain moving throughout the Covid pandemic, delivering food and medicines, transporting key workers and helping the elderly and vulnerable get to vaccination centres.”

This year’s Professional Driver QSi Awards recognise those amazing efforts and bring the industry together for a much-needed night of celebration.

Mark Bursa continued: “We were overwhelmed by the quality of the entries, and it was a very tough job to pick our winners. Only very good operators made the short list, so we can be sure our Gold, Silver and Bronze winners are among the very best in Britain.

CHABÉ CELEBRATES ITS 100TH BIRTHDAY!

2021 is the Centenary for the family business. This is the occasion to make you discover throughout the year the history of Chabé, from its beginnings to nowadays.

The Fleet

After twenty months of closure of the US borders due to COVID-19, the United States announced at the end of September that it would be reopening on 8 November.

After the long-awaited resumption of events in France, the gradual return to normal is confirmed with the forthcoming opening of the American borders to tourists and business travelers from all over the world.

Chabé is ready to accompany tourists and business travelers from all over the world for all their travel needs during their authorized stay in the United States. We offer a bespoke mobility service on an international scale, guaranteeing an outstanding passenger experience at all times, anywhere in the world.
Through our network of audited and trusted US partners, we offer the same level of quality in the US as in the countries where Chabé uses its own resources (France, UK, Switzerland and Monaco).

Whether it is a transfer service, roadshow or event we provide the highest quality of service. With extensive experience in delivering international service, we have in depth knowledge of United States and understand what it takes to deliver a consistent high standard of service with the necessary Duty of Care that is paramount.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT OUR INTERNATIONAL NETWORK

Entry to the US will be permitted in early November subject to the following conditions.

Anyone wishing to travel to the USA must

In addition, airlines will have to collect the contact details of their passengers so that they can be contacted if anyone on the flight is declared positive for COVID.

The list of recognized vaccines allowing travelers to enter the country has not been fully disclosed. However, people immunized with the vaccines identified by the US drug agency, the FDA, i.e. those made by Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson&Johnson, are already authorised to enter the United States from November. According to Thierry Breton, who is in charge of coordinating the European Union’s supply of Covid vaccines, Europeans vaccinated with AstraZeneca’s serum should be able to come to the United States in November, even though the vaccine is not recognised by the US Food and Drug Administration.

After long months of waiting and an uncertain recovery in June, the events calendar is finally filling up: Fashion Week, congresses, exhibitions, diplomatic and sporting events… the Chabé teams are back in the field to contribute to the success of the extraordinary events organized by our clients.

The recovery began with Men’s Fashion Week in June 2021, although only 5 of the 72 Luxury Houses presented their Spring/Summer 2022 collections in a physical show. *
Despite the lack of face-to-face events, Chabé accompanied its clients with a fleet of more than 150 chauffeur-driven vehicles.
At the same time, the Group took part in the successful organization of the Generation Equality Forum with over 50 vehicles and chauffeurs for airport transfers and event transportation.
At the end of the summer, in the Sarthe department, Chabé provided transport for the VIPs of a major Swiss luxury company during the 24 hours of Le Mans race.

At the beginning of September, Chabé was at two events, in Marseille and in Paris.
From 3 to 11 September, at the Palais des Congrès de Marseille Chanot, the first major event dedicated to the environment since the beginning of the pandemic was held in a hybrid format. Chabé provided transport in 100% electric vehicles with a team of chauffeurs, 60% of whom were women.

Then from September 9 to 12, the Grand Palais Ephémère hosted the first modern and contemporary art fair, the Art Paris Art Fair. As an official partner, we provided transport for the organizers and VIPs throughout the event.

The end of September saw the start of the medical congresses at the Palais des Congrès in Paris with several transfers to and from airports and train stations.

Chabé also participated in the Business Travel Show in London as an exhibitor. This was an opportunity for the teams in London and in Paris to renew contacts with the tourism industry.

The long-awaited recovery is now confirmed with the ready-to-wear Fashion Week.
After the New York, London and Milan Fashion Weeks, the show is now back in Paris, with around 30 in-person shows. The women’s ready-to-wear week, which runs from 27 September to 5 October, “looks good“, Pascal Morand, Executive President of the Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion, told AFP. “All the big houses are there with a few exceptions, there are new brands, we can sense an appetite for the physical, for the show“, after months of health crisis and lockdown. **

To date, 97 fashion houses are returning to the catwalk for their new spring/summer 2022 collections.

From the Opéra Garnier to the Tuileries, from the Grand Palais Ephémère to the Carrousel du Louvre, Chabé deployed 250 cars with chauffeurs over the week to transport VIPs, journalists and employees of the leading luxury houses.

After a Master’s degree in Tourism Management and an experience in the hotel industry, Flora Chaise turned to sustainable development with a Master’s degree in Management and Sustainable Development at ESI Business School.
Before joining Chabé, Flora was in charge of CSR in a car rental company.
This experience led to her joining the Group as CSR Manager on September 1st.

Flora Chaise transport développement durable RSE

Why did you join Chabé as CSR Manager ?

Without hesitation, I would say because of their ambition!
Today, Chabé has no CSR obligations, but there is a real desire on the part of management, embodied by Guillaume Connan, which convinced me of the position’s potential.
The automotive sector has a real impact on the environment, and Chabé wants to become a responsible player in the industry, hoping to have a positive knock-on effect on those who have not yet taken the plunge and to become a reference in the sector.
Creating a full-time CSR manager position in a medium-sized company is already a strong signal. For me, it’s a great challenge to have to meet high expectations on the subject – it is the main motivating factor.

Since taking up your job a little over a month ago, what is your first assessment of Chabé’s commitment to responsibility?

Historically, Chabé was already committed to certain issues such as creating permanent jobs and the quality of its services.
In recent years, Chabé has shown a strong commitment to CSR. Last year, its commitment developed with CSR maturity assessment and the implementation of the first actions such as dematerialization and carbon compensation.
Of course, there are still projects to be carried out, but the impetus has already been created and will continue to evolve.

What will be your main missions?

My role is to bring more structure and follow-up to Chabé’s CSR approach. First of all, we are going to carry out a carbon assessment to better understand Chabé’s major challenges, and establish an action plan based on the results obtained.
We also need to raise awareness among our various stakeholders (employees, chauffeurs, customers and passengers) on the subject, to fully embody this approach.
This will also be an opportunity to register with a general benchmark or an international certification body to highlight our results.

In early 2021, Chabé was the first French company to receive the new EQV. These 4 EQVs were its first 100% electric vans. What about today?

These new 100% electric vehicles have been a real breakthrough for the group. We want to move towards a fleet of low-carbon vehicles and have more than 50% electric vehicles in our fleet by 2022. This will obviously depend on the release of the models concerned, which must remain consistent with the quality level of our services.

Chabé’s commitment to CSR seems to be becoming more and more important in its strategy. Are you thinking of other aspects to develop in the future?

It is true that Chabé has many upcoming projects, which is very motivational, and we already have very positive feedback from different stakeholders, which confirms our willingness to develop our commitment.
At the same time, I would like to work on long-term issues, such as diversity.
The chauffeur’s job is represented by men because historically the job was exclusively dedicated to them, as explained by Frédérike Dupont-Pauchet, HR Director, during an interview on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Before we can recruit more women, we need to do some real awareness-raising work with this group to encourage more women to join the chauffeur-driven vehicle profession.

One year ago, on the 1st of October 2020, Chabé opened its first office in the United Kingdom, in London. The Group takes the opportunity to look back on this year with an interview with David Bruce, UK Chief Executive Officer

David Bruce Chabé LondonIt’s exactly a year since Chabé London started trading in London how has it gone ?

The venture was a bold move.
Launching Chabé in London during a global pandemic, wasn’t an obvious thing to do. However with the benefit of hindsight, it was the perfect timing. We have used the time to hire an amazing team of over 20 experienced professionals. The team have implemented new technology, developed our pricing and market offering and have attracted some fantastic clients.
Our customer base now extends to over 60 clients across all of our niche verticals; Private equity and Financial services, Corporate Boards, Events and Luxury brands and Luxury Hotels. I’m exceptionally proud of the whole team’s progress in the past 12 months, and we have enabled the business ready to scale and September’s trading has surpassed expectations.

What’s different about Chabé to other mobility and ground transportation providers ?

We are very differentiated and that has always been the case.
The business is 100 years old this year, and has prospered through delivering high touch, bespoke services to our clients. We are not a one size fits all platform serving the mass mobility market, we are a chauffeur business, which by its very definition, is tailored to each clients’ need. It is that level of focus on each individual client that is our difference. We are hugely relationship driven and our clients trust us to deliver their exact needs. This is very different to an increasingly homogenised app based market.

What does the future look like ?

We have an ambitious business plan for London however never at the expense of quality.
Within 2 years I see London contributing significantly to Group Revenue and Profitability. As well as serving London itself, we will also act as the international hub for Chabé. I would like to see London and International making up over 25% of Group Revenue and margin fairly quickly. It’s a major strategic pillar of growth for the business.

In terms of product offering, I think by the end of 2023 the vast majority of operators in London will be running all electric fleets.
The client demand for low emission travel is accelerating. Today Chabé London are one of the earliest adopters of all electric vehicles in the market and we will continue to work with the OEMs to be the first to bring new technology to market.
We will also continue to digitise the business offering solutions to each of the niche markets we serve.
We already do that for luxury hotels and we are investing in digitising the customer experience in other verticals too.

In addition companies are going to need to demonstrate a strong CSR agenda. Our approach is already strong; we have an employed chauffeur model, a proactive approach to D&I, and are truly able to demonstrate environmental sustainability reporting – there is of course so much more we can do to make a difference. Our clients will demand it.

The market will increasingly diverge between apps providing a commodity based services, competing on price and response times, to truly differentiated high touch service providers with a deep understanding of their clients’ needs and providing bespoke chauffeuring solutions. Our future has always been in the latter.

2021 is the Centenary for the family business. This is the occasion to make you discover throughout the year the history of Chabé, from its beginnings to nowadays.

1997

Since its creation in 1921, Chabé has never stopped growing.
Here is a look at the group’s geographical expansion over the years.

It was only 56 years after its beginnings in Paris that Chabé, then known as Chabé Verjat, began its expansion with the opening of a first agency in Cannes in 1997.
The following year, a new office was opened in the City of Lights (Lyon). In 2005, Chabé decided to set up its third branch in the south-west, in Toulouse.

From 2011 onwards, Chabé’s geographical development accelerated with the opening of 6 new offices in France: Biarritz, Bordeaux and Marseille (2011), Courchevel (2012), Megève (2017) and Saint-Tropez (2020).
At the same time, the acquisition of a Swiss company in 2012 and the opening of an office in Monaco in 2019 marked the group’s international debut.

In 2020, the opening of a new office in London boosted Chabé’s presence in Europe and marked a new stage in its international development. Chabé is now present in 13 cities in Europe and offers its services in 100 countries.

For its 23rd edition, Art Paris took place at the Grand Palais Ephémère on the Champs-de-Mars (usually the event is held at the Grand Palais, currently under construction until 2024), from 9 to 12 September 2021.

It was the first Modern and Contemporary Art Fair to take up residence in this ephemeral location designed by Wilmotte & Associés Architectes and produced by the company GL events.

This major event for modern and contemporary art in Paris brought together more than 140 modern and contemporary art galleries from some twenty countries, mainly from Europe, but also from more distant shores such as Korea, Colombia, the Ivory Coast, Guatemala and Uruguay.

The event welcomed a total of 72,746 participants, an increase of more than 28% compared to the previous edition, including 29,023 visitors with professional and VIP invitations (+25% compared to 2020) and 500 accredited journalists.

For the 5th consecutive year, Chabé was one of the partners of Art Paris Art Fair. For this occasion, we ensured transportation for organizers and VIPS throughout the event.

We also invited our clients and prospects to a cocktail party on Friday 10 September, which allowed us to think about an encouraging future with a resumption of activity.

See you next year, from 7 to 11 April 2021 at the Grand Palais Ephémère.

CHABÉ CELEBRATES ITS 100TH BIRTHDAY!

2021 is the Centenary for the family business. This is the occasion to make you discover throughout the year the history of Chabé, from its beginnings to nowadays.

1976

From an early age, Eliane Lo Jacomo was involved in managing the company, which became Etablissements Maurice Chabé in 1953. She took over as head of the firm in 1959.
Her arrival modernized Chabé’s image, with the first visual identity created for the family business in 1976.

In 1991, two years after the arrival of Agnès Lo Jacomo, the founder’s grand-daughter, the company bought the Verjat company and was renamed Chabé Ver-jat, leading to the Group creating its first logo in 1995.

Today, Chabé has decided to break away from the traditional codes of the private transport company to assert a strong identity, reflecting its ambitions for the mobility of tomorrow.

Launching a new London chauffeur business at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic was perhaps not the obvious thing to do. But that’s what French-owned Chabé did in late 2020.

On 7 July 2020, Chabé discloses its new visual identity…

Graphic patterns, a poetic and subtle photo universe, a rounded typography, blue-white-red colours… Every detail of our new visual identity has been carefully thought to fully reflect our purpose: To seamlessly integrate into the extraordinary experiences…

…and its new website.

Intuitive search tools, online chat with our advisers, reminder system… We have paid particular attention to the user experience, in order to offer you a fluid navigation and bring you the solutions you need, as naturally as possible.

This work is the result of a collaboration with several communication experts including Julien Delatte from One thing at time, and Macha Kontchakova & Emma Brante from Frontline Studio.

A look back at this teamwork of over 9 months…

We were in the midst of a transformation, in a competitive landscape that was being profoundly redrawn since the arrival of platforms. In 2019, we were approaching 100 years of existence with international projects, key digital innovations and new offers for our clients. So many present and future transformations made it necessary to question the role of Chabé in order to accompany its growth and mark its difference. That’s why we asked Julien Delatte to advise us on how to make our brand even stronger for our clients, partners and employees explains Guillaume Connan, President of Chabé.

My main mission was to support and facilitate the Group’s growth by optimising its brand narrative” Julien Delatte emphasises.

To ensure this, Julien’s work was divided into 4 steps, the first of which was to understand the business model, challenges and prospects. The second phase was the diagnosis and ideation, followed by the recommendation and finally the execution.

For several weeks, I audited Chabé’s customers, management, administrative staff and chauffeurs, in order to create an accurate and coherent brand identity for the various players in the Group,” adds Julien.
It was a very interesting job, because during the meetings, all the clients interviewed recognised the obvious leadership, high standards and interesting development prospects.
Internally, several values stood out, such as team spirit, unfailing composure, kindness and the resulting attention to detail…

After this audit, Julien wanted to finalize his support with a working group bringing together various Chabé employees, such as the IT, Sales, Communication, HR, Chauffeur and Dispatch departments.

With the brand platform completed, the founder of One Thing at Time handed over the reins to two experts in luxury brand communication, Macha and Emma, who were responsible for developing the brand platform into a visual and graphic universe.

We have worked with Julien on the redesign of the visual identity of several luxury brands. This new project for Chabé inspired us a lot: helping a historical brand to find its language and identity in an “uberized” world and giving it a touch of modernity and elegance, these are challenges that we like very much at Frontline studio underline Macha and Emma.

With our growth ambitions, we wanted to show our difference by breaking away from the statutory codes of luxury for a more subjective universe. This in-depth work on our image was an opportunity for us to redesign our website and the perfect time to revamp our visual identity,” explains Leslie Moica, Sales & Marketing Director. “Our logo has evolved since Chabé was founded, so we wanted to give it a new lease of life while keeping the original logo created in 2003.”

Regarding the photographs, rather than illustrating the chauffeur’s profession, we wanted to retranscribe the experience of the client who, comfortably installed in the back of a beautiful car, discovers a city, sees its monuments, feels the sun, the light… The sensory and poetic universe in black and white has taken place in the communication of Chabé”, explain Macha et Emma.

In the continuity of this research, we reworked the graphic universe of the brand by taking our inspiration from the language of the Arts Deco, the era in which Chabé was born. From the brand’s logo, we developed geometric patterns that now adorn and enrich the website” add Macha et Emma.

Chabé is a centenary French family business which wishes to develop internationally. We wanted to show our territory by recalling the colours of our country of origin: blue, white and red,” Leslie Moica emphasises.

Frontline Studio, led by Macha Konchakova and Emma Brante, then managed the redesign of the website with the help of Vanessa Banier, editor, Franck Juery, photographer and Benjamin Levaux, webmaster.

We wanted to develop the customer experience so that they could quickly find what they were looking for, but also be accompanied throughout their visit, in particular by an online chat with experienced advisers and a telephone call-back system” says Leslie Moica.

After several months of intense work, we are delighted with this new brand platform and the overhaul of our visual identity, which are in line with our values and the image we wish to convey. Chabé is a spry centenarian that is constantly evolving, and this renewal has done it a lot of good! ” concludes Guillaume Connan.

CHABÉ CELEBRATES ITS 100TH BIRTHDAY!

2021 is the Centenary for the family business. This is the occasion to make you discover throughout the year the history of Chabé, from its beginnings to nowadays.

1947

In 1947, Chabé signed its first contract with a prestigious client, the Hotel Plaza Athénée Paris, which has remained one of our most loyal clients ever since.
Our mission is not to transport a client from point A to point B, but rather to ensure that the hotel’s clients feel as if they have arrived at their destination the moment they get into their vehicle.
A guest’s first and last impression of a hotel begins and ends with the transport.
This is why Chabé works tirelessly to offer its hotel guests an outstanding transport experience to match the hotel’s prestige.

On this occasion, François Delahaye, General Manager of the Plaza Athénée Hotel, tells us more about the 75-year professional relationship between Chabé and the Plaza Athénée and luxury hotels’ expectations for their transport providers.

This centenary is also an opportunity to (re)discover the history of the hotel via their website.
